For me its a Gerber Mark I ( Mark II?) that I purchased from a gun store in Grand Rapids Michigan back in the summer of 1982. This knife was my constant companion. I carried it everywhere and I even gave it a name of Ozzie..( after Ozzie Osbourne though never a big fan of his music I thought this knife sort of resembled him or at least his attitude back in the 80s) I carried this knife on a ill advised trip to the Sudan in 1983 ( long story ) and It has always been with me, on my honeymoon, when I went to college, when I started my career. Strange now that it is honestly probably my favorite knife because of the sentimental value...

What is yours??

Dang Ren, that knife is in good shape for being 27! There's 2 for me ,first the Kershaw Black Gulch that my old man got for me when I turned 15. It was my first real knife, though I already had a good sized collection by then the rest have all fallen by the wayside. When I turned 18 I bought a Benchmade Stryker and carried that stinkin' knife everywhere! I don't think it left my side for almost 8 years, maybe taking a day or two off to try out something new but never setting still for long.

I have a few like that.

Spyderco Remote Release that was my constant companion clipped on my LBV in the Army.

Case Copperlock with ugly as hell stag scales that was the knife I used for my infamous squirrel suicide snare.

Spyderco Volpe,BM635 & any of my BRK&T's

I have a few old, but perfect Schrade Sharpfingers I wouldn't let go. Also, my Kershaw S60V Blur...one of 14 produced.

I couldn't begin to say but I could probably narrow the list down to 5 or so.

Mcustas - various models with pocket clips
Seki-Cut Bob Lum Encounters - I have several
Spyderco Militarys
Spyderco Manix's
Spyderco CF Caly 3

Uh oh, I can't stop here . . .

Spyderco Sage
BM 710's
any of my 5 ZT's

This is a futile . . . I should have never posted a reply!

A little plastic Case Tri fold. Carried it all through college, then lost it for a good stretch. Found it and put it somewhere safe. Not much of a knife but we've been through a lot together.

- Bark River Aurora and Canadian Camp
- Busse NMFBM
- Kershaw Tyrade
- BM Rukus, 710 and Kulgera
- Spyderco Military CPM-D2
- ZT 021 and 0302

Several family heirlooms that I'll never let get away, other than to pass them on to the next generation.

As far as the one I've used, still use, and will never give up: a Case Folding Hunter (6265). I traded a Schrade for it in high school, carried it a lot, it's the only knife left after my collection was stolen in the mid-90's.

I tried to clean it up on a belt sander, and ruined it. Retired it; then on a whim, asked Case to re-blade it for me. Getting that knife back, looking brand new, was literally like Christmas as a kid! The folks in the office were very impressed with it.

thx - cpr

-Spyderco Delica ZDP
-Kershaw Skyline
-My old (1995?) Vic Explorer... first knife, still carry it, it's still so useful!

My #1 choice would be my Gerber LMF. My father bought and sent it to me during my first deployment in to a combat zone. I carried it on every subsequent deployment of which there were many. The knife saw duty in almost every environment....desert...jungle and rough mountain terrain.

The four-blade congress pattern slip joint my father bought for me when I turned 10 in 1968.

Just a plain ole Buck 110 my wife gave me shortly after we were married, some 34 odd years ago.

I edc a Caly3 SPydie now but I still have a gerber Cameleon, which I have owned for 10yrs. 1/16 of an inch has been sharpened out of it. I used that thing for so many duties, some I can't mention here.;)
