The knife you just won't part with...ever

Probably my Ka-Bar Dozier Thorn and my 710. They are my 2 most carried and I sort of have a bond with them. They have served me well and in return I will keep them.

I'd say one of those original leatherman tools that my dad gave me when I was a webelo scout, I remember it going with me everywhere. I retired it after my first trip to philmont scout ranch after a 3 week backpacking trip there. Coming back to south texas, I think the pressure change (we were at a base elevation of 6,000 ft and climbed over 11,000 ft on my first trip there) caused it to become so tight that I could no longer use it.

Only until recently did I remember it, pull it out, WD 40'd the living daylight out of it and loosened up the screws (or bolts) holding the parts together. It works like a charm and is back in my EDC rotation.

There it is, and even in the pouch that I made for it all those years ago. I still have the original leatherman pouch, but it stays in my closet full of goodies.

This bad boy, cause my dear Dad gave it to me and it started me collecting a worthwhile brand, after seeing that some Spyderco's go way up in value over the years.

Why, thank you very kindly! Real shame they are long discontinued.

You're welcome, kindly. I'm not as seasoned as most people on here are in terms of knife collecting, so I started searching only to find out, like you just stated, that they are long discontinued. That really is a shame, that's one of the best looking Spydercos I've ever seen. Plus, it has a liner lock. I might actually be in love.

I think right now it'd have to be my Bravo-1, but that might change once I get into customs at some point...

I don't have a great story or extensive history with it yet, but damn, I have never had a knife before that felt like it was a missing piece of my hand.

You like this large Persian? A lot find it in the "eye candy" category.

although its only one of my more recent purchases once again im gonna stand by my Kershaw leek 1660 cktst, im going to keep this thing with me as long as i can
ive had it for almost a year now and ive only ever touched it up on my friends sharpmaker once and its kept the edge perfectly through repetitive use on tasks ranging from slicing paper to sawing through bamboo.

A few for me...

A knife my parents gave me on my 21st birthday. It's nothing special as far as knives go....but me and my parents had many years of fighting and disagreement, so that we can spend peaceful time together these days means a lot to me, and seeing them pick out something based on the interests I have meant a lot to me. The knife kind of represents the somewhat healed relationship we currently have.

My Byrd Cara Cara. It was the first knife I reprofiled. Seriously changed how I view knives. It was also the first knife I EDC'd consistently for a long time. Over half a year. Shit, these days I sometimes switch up my EDC throughout the same day.

UK Pen Knife. I've beaten the shit out of this knife so many times, and its held up perfectly. I got it on a whim, thinking I'd like it and being curious to see a one handed slipjoint. Previous to this knife I carried a Manix, Millie or Cara Cara. This is the knife that made me appreciate small knives, which I had grown accustomed to overlooking because they usually had smaller handles than I liked. This knife felt better in hand than any other knife I had held before. It still hasn't been dethroned. I should have a green one coming in the mail, so I can give this one a well deserved rest.

My D2 Mili stays with me and so will a few other knives:
- Ka-Bar Heavy Bowie: it is a quite common production knife, but it was the first knife I really wanted and it surprised me several times with its versatility
- Becker 7 and 9: they are just great knives and also pretty rare
- Swamprat Battle Rat: pretty rare and one beast of a knife

and I do miss my Byrd Cara Cara...:(

Well, I'd part with any of them. In the end, we are all going to have to part with our collections no matter what the fates allow. I do have a smaller Spyderco knife which I've carried (used and abused) for the better part of ten years, it was a gift from a co-worker, a three inch blade fashioned of ats-55...I'd think twice about giving that one up since I sent it back to Golden, Co for a touch up twice as well as a few great memories of hunting trips etc. There are a few customs which I might have trouble selling, my Bird and Trout knife being amongst them.

I am very fond of the Busse basic 9. That might be the last one to go in my case, but the newer 11.5 inch flagship holds a close second. What a knife!

I have two they are
my vic camper engraved "das tolle Messer"- I got it on a school trip to Germany Austria and Switzerland at a stor in Switzerland
My BM 615 mini-rukus- I just love that knife
