The knife your most embarrassed to admit you own.

My Bud K ninja sword that comes with small knives, a breathing tube and can be used as a spear, not proud of it, I guess I was just being a normal 18 year old kid.

A Frost cutlery POS that i bought to learn sharpening without ruining any of my decent knives :D It's tucked away safely, gathering dust.

Everyone needs to have least owned one or two cheap folders with those flimsy liners that close on you just so you can really appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into a good knife. As for me, I had done away with most of the knives I would be embarrassed to post about here.

Never had a cheapy. (ok, one chinese switchblade, but that wasn't bad) I guess my Gerber LST counts. I couldn't get it sharp for the life of me

Gerber sucks, I was very displeased with my EZ Out and EZ Out JR. The companies only saving grace is the fact that my new Silver Knight is so freaking nice looking.

That's nothing to be embarrassed about. That's actually a good idea. Even a POS bought as a training knife is better than nothing.

Imagine all those people who aren't posting their choices! How embarrassed are they? What the heck did *they* buy?

I've gotten a few knives as gifts I wouldn't put in with my customs but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the thoughts behind them.

But I'v also bought a few pos before I really knew about quality.

An old fellow worker knew I collected knives and for Christmas one year he gave me a whole box of knives. At first I was very excited but each one of them was a slip joint POS made in Pakistan. In a word...JUNK! I used them for the pins and the brass liners for years until I used them up. Of course I was very gracious with Bob when he gave them to me but inside I was like, oh please. I hope you didn't pay much for these.

A very good friend once bought me a knife. It was a small dagger, very badly made. Cheap metal handle painted gold, plastic inserts that were supposed to look like wood. The blade wiggled a bit, and it had a printed design on one side that was misaligned. At $15, she paid way too much. It was nice of her to acknowledge my hobby, though. I think the knife has been lost. Haven't seen it around in a while.

In return, a couple years later, I gave her a BM 310A.

Edit:
Oh yeah, I also have hidden in a box somewhere a Franklin Mint folder from about 10 years ago. Something with an artwork insert of a wolf.

I think we've all had knockoff SAK's, I usually just keep them so I have spare tweezers and toothpicks. My stepmom (god rest her soul) used to get dozens of them at a local auction place for me, buck each sometimes less. Either way I always love gift knives, no matter what the quality, it shows people listen and care, even if they don't understand the quality factors.

I've owned some junk, but not any more. The "cheapest" knives I own are Spydercos or SAKs.

If there's anything embarresing about any of my knives, it's that I own 3 rainbowed ones. A BM3100 Benchmite, a Rainbow Leek, and a rainbow Protech Duke. What can I say? I like rainbow anodization.

You mean people really buy those? :D

j/k :)

S&W Swat tanto blade, piece of crap is an understatement. I even carried it for a few days til it bit me (the lock unlocked during use). I would take it to the range and shoot it if the wife didn't give it to me. I store it with a note to myself on how much it sucks it so I'll never accidentally use it again.
