The knife your most embarrassed to admit you own.

Check this one out. Explorer Survival knock off of Gerber MkI. What can I say, I wanted a boot knife and I didn't know any better. Not crazy about the Valor boot knife right above it either, but at least it kept some kind of edge. The steel on the Explorer dulled immediately and I could never get it sharp again. The only reason I still have it is I don't feel right giving it away, let alone selling it. I should just toss it, but I just keep imagining some kid picking it up, even though it really won't cut anything. :barf:

What I wanna know is what knife do you own that your embarresed to admit you own.

So what's hidin' in your dresser drawers? :(

A dark ops knife BEFORE they went public.... :(

Seriously though... This is what I picked up a few years ago. It looked cool, but is crap. LOL Cobra Knife

"Most embarrased." Well, I certainly own some crap. :)

It's kind of a tossup. I have a pot-metal decorator halberd from Denix, that isn't actually a bad example of what it is (a completely absolutely worthless wallhanger), but I can't believe what I spent on it - it was one of those "now or never" things, and I cannot believe I opened my wallet.

On the other hand that was something like ten years ago, and I can pretend I was young and naive. But I have fine knives by the impeccable brand "China, Stainless" - an outfit so stellar that other companies' designers let them use their designs for no payment at all  - that I've actually bought in the last half dozen years. Dirt, dirt cheap, but I bought them, and I bought them not only knowing they were knockoffs, but because they were knockoffs. Now THAT's embarrassing.

I have two kinds of these. One are knives I'm not sure I want enough to want to own them, but that intrigue me enough that I'll pop $1 plus shipping on Ebay to handle the design. (Man, this IS embarrassing.) Then if I actually like it, I'll drop the moolah on a real one. The other kind is that I wanted to see just how bad a dirt-cheap Axis lock could be, and the answer is pretty bad.

I notice Rolling Locks depend on close enough tolerances that I've never seen an attempted knockoff.

He, he, nice topic ;)
I have a lockback with a Buck look alike style (you know, copper bolsters and wooden handles). It is very small (under 4" length open). I was keeping it for throwing (small as it is, it is pretty well balanced and heavy enough so it sticks) and in time I got fond of it. Now it stays in the drawer, near my Spydies, Kershaws, CRKT and DeltaZ knives, but I just couldn't find the heart to dispose it :(

My "in the closet" knives are:

1. An Italian stiletto switchblade I inherited from my father
2. A Livesay Woo - chisel grind is on the wrong side for a right handed person
3. A Large Cold Steel Voyager Tanto.

OK, so they're not THAT bad...Life is too short for really crappy steel.

In my case, the knives I'm most embarrassed to own are not cheap Chinese POS knives. No, that would be too easy. What I'm talking about are good knives that I've managed to screw up. :o :( No knife person will ever see these knives! Way too embarrassing. So just forget about it!

I can't even talk about it any more. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe.
