The knives that make you proud.

I'm pretty proud of my Microtech collection, Hinderers, Cold Steels, even my Chinese knives...including the Hobacks.

And how is that going for you, Brian agreed yet?
Tentatively, should come out of the next batch in the summer...all the ones on hand were already cut for inlay pockets

I am proud of and will never sell my Bailey Model 2 geek edition. While I was in the hospital with encephalopathy back in 2016, stage 4 liver failure, my mother saw I had been looking at this knife online on my phone. I was incoherent at the time. She unbeknownst to me, contacted Matt and ordered one. Sure enough, when I finally got out of the hospital, she surprised me with it.

Is it my favorite knife? No. I love it though, and while I carry it and use it occasionally, I'm afraid to lose it so it mainly stays in the case.

Awesome story sir.

In the same light, my proudest knives aren’t necessarily my favorite users, they are the ones with the most sentimental value. My oldest daughter, 16, bought me a Spyderco Chaparral for Christmas. I’m not sure how she knew I was wanting one but she did. She bought this with her own money, that she earned from her after school job. The thought and effort means the world to me. My dad has given me several Case slip joints from back in the 70’s and early 80’s that I would never let go. And my wife gave me a Damascus knife kit for me to finish that I also treasure.

I’m very proud to have these CRK’s in my collection. The Unique Graphic is my nicest CRK, Lisa from CRK is a true artist.

The third photo are my most sentimental knives. I carried all three in my pocket when I proposed to my now fiancé and that photo of my knives was from that same evening. The SHF was a gift from her, the StarTac is my most carried and used modern folder that is special to me, and the #77 Mount of Olive Wood is very special to me being harvested directly from the Mount of Olives from the Garden of Gethsemane, Nazareth. The Olive Wood trimmings are from a 2,000 year old Olive Tree that dates back to the time of Jesus, and Jesus entered through this garden on his final week and has prayed on the Mount of Olives several times with his disciples.

Some epic knives in this thread!

I have a number of special pieces but this one is truly unique.

When I was a teenager I drew my version of the perfect Japanese style blade.

The drawing remained in a folio until April 2020, some 38 years, when I asked Matt Gregory to look at it and see if it was something he might consider building.
He liked it and proceeded with the build.

Matt produced a modern iconic Japanese themed piece which is absolutely Magnificent and so much better than I had ever imagined it could be.

After Coop worked his magic with the camera the photograph went on to garner the most likes Coop has ever had on Instagram.

I am honoured to own it.🙂

That is wonderfully beautiful!! Glad it finally came to fruition for you. :)

I'm not a maker or modifier, so don't think I'd use "proud" to describe any knives in my collection (all I did was buy them cuz I liked them). Rather, what I think I'm most proud of is the knowledge gained while collecting Cold Steel for many years, which has allowed me to help others, as well as post some "history" threads in the CS sub.
