The last 3 bravo-1 handle competitors, orange g10, blue g10, green canvas micarta

That's what I thought. I really can't tell the difference between smooth Micarta handles and smooth G-10 ones except for the colors and patterns on the bevel sections.

The only textured G-10 I own is on my Mini Ruckus and I like the feel of it.

this is so hard!
I love the look of the orange g-10 but also think the grip of the micarta looks quite comforting, ugh i can never decide when it comes to buying something new.
so give me a sort of chart and advantages vs disadvantages to green micarta vs orange g-10.
oh and if anyone else can decide, im looking for a nice survival sheath for it, some of that paracord stuff and a nice diamond arkansas stone

Hey Tuffblade,

I keep looking at the Bravo 1. It is a nice looking knife. At Knives Ship Free, they have a leather sheath with a firesteel loop and it looks excellent.

Personally, I wouldn't want a sheath combination, that holds two knives, or a PSK, for that matter. A fire steel or perhaps an EZ lap sharpener would be the most I would want on a sheath. Otherwise, too much weight and bulk in one place. Just my opinion, of course.

I use canvas micarta on all my newer outdoor knives. With Bark Rivers I rough it up a bit with sandpaper since it is polished from the maker.

Canvas micarta feels slightly sticky when wet and gives a better a better grip than untextured G-10.

PS! The Bravo is a great knife:thumbup:

I like blue G-10. But for visibility, the orange is unbeatable.

For durability, they're all pretty equals on that list.

For visibility in nature, I find bright blue to be better than blaze orange. In the fall, that blaze orange will just blend in. But there is nothing in nature that is bright blue (aside from flowers, and there are plenty of orange flowers, too) so bright blue objects really stand out in the woods. I know that some people will say blue would be a problem in water, but if the water is deep enough that the bright blue handle blends in with the background, it is too deep to retrieve anyway.

I am a green canvas guy....if I drop it, I'll never find it, but if I'm holdng it, I like it much better! (just don't care for the bright colors)
