The last knife you ever buy

Court date Thursday, divorce will be final. No restrictions now.

Sometimes the most direct solution is the most elegant! :)

I guess I'd go ahead and pick up a Small 21 Insingo with polished frames, dual studs and snakewood inserts that was made on my birthday. I know that's a little bit over $400, but I'd whine and complain until someone cut me a deal :p That's the knife that I think I could be happy carrying everyday.

Scenario...your wife has had enough! Your knives have dwindled the kids college fund, you are eating crackers and apple sauce for dinner, you are working just to cover the 5 advances you took for those sebenzas,
you had to siphon gas from your neighbors truck last week just to get to work...
You have to sell all of your knives just Incase your shyster divorce lawyer wants more money...
But you can't live without a knife!?
You go hungry for a week just so you can buy the last knife you will ever buy.
You figure to spend up to $400 before having to consider selling a kidney to get by.

What's the last knife you ever buy?

Brother , that's simply what we call "phase 1" of knife collecting.

That made me chuckle out loud.... touché

I am not much of a folder guy but I have bought a couple of CRKs recently to see if I like them...for me it would be a fixed blade and more than likely a Busse ASH1... some here will be shocked no doubt to hear me take that stance... :D

I, for one, was very shocked to hear this. I'm not sure I've ever heard you mention this knife before.... :D The real question is, which Busse ash 1?

For me it would be a 6-7 inch fixed blade of undetermined model. And a crate of tums for the ulcer I'd get trying to pick the model....

The base Dragonfly 2 or a Delica 4. All the knife I personally need, plenty of quality, good factory support, and if it did get hurt I wouldn't be devastated that my week of hunger went out the window. I'm just not that hard of a user to need much more than even a SAK. Everything above that is optional and probably not worth the hunger.

If the budget were $400 though and I were to spend that, it would first be a Small Sebenza (ironic because before I handled them in person recently I thought they were quite overhyped and not worth it) and then if that wasn't your style I'd go Giant Mouse GM1.

If by the off chance this scenario presents itself, I would hop in my Delorian time machine & hit 88 mph.

if I got to keep one of the knives I already own... hands down my Shiro NeOn. If I had to pick a knife that was under $400... small sebenza.

Just put the order in for a large sebenza 21 insigno. Guess I'll have to sell the kidney to cover the 10$ plus shipping

Freeman Titanium 451 Flipper

I'd actually prefer to carry a Sebenza, but I figure the Sebby isn't going anywhere. The Freemans are rarely seen in the wild though and I don't want to miss out on one.

Keep the knives and sell that damn kidney......ya got 2 of em!!!!
😬😬😬
Sorry, couldn't resist!!!
I will be NO help......I can NEVER have just one!
Joe

I'd have to die tryin' to decide and I could probably prolong that by sayin' I need to try one more to see if that's the one, maybe just one more before I can decide. ;)

That said I'd keep my Birthday Benza, 2 reasons, it's a Sebenza and I think it's the epitome of a quality production knife and after carryin' one for the last 3 or so years after wantin' one for the last 25 years I've come to the conclusion that a Sebenza satisfies my EDC knife needs, (not wants). The other reason I'd pick that knife is it was born on the same date I was and it has a cool diamond plate graphic, Seein' as I grew up around trucks and salvage yards I can relate to the graphic so it would be a trifecta for me. :)

Ain't ya sorry ya asked now? :)

I have only a few (10?) usable knives, and the one that came today could easily be my last if it had to be. Bailey model 2 Geek edition.

I love it Ted!!
Meant to ask you.....is that diamond plate something you had done or is that factory??? I have to say that is the coolest looking CRK!!
Joe

It was factory and Ajack60 saw I had a request in the Sebenza Birthday Thread and traded me for it, I think we both made out on that deal.

KOD, I meant to ask you, are you in the hospital or outpatient maybe? I've seen the inside of so many hospital and outpatient treatment rooms in the last 2 years that your pic just had that look. You don't have to answer I was just curious my friend?

Smoke and ... goin' up for you.

It's my old bedroom at my parents house, where I am now living. Was revamped into a generic guest room. New meds are helping a lot. I see the transplant team on the 22nd and my divorce is final Thursday.

My nephews came to visit today, was able to go to the forest preserve. I get so tired so quickly, it sucks.

It would be a fixed blade for sure. Im sure you could get a nice ass one for $400. Look into Busse, Swamprat
