i have had all i can stands, i can't stands no more! i checked today, feverdoc is correct. the boxes are weight sensitive. the envelope is flat rate.this was from a knowledgable window clerk and friend of mine. as someone else said, everyone has had good and bad experiences with all carriers.i myself will continue to use the p.o. and i am a PROUD employee of the U.S. Postal Service. i try to stay out of these bickerings, because everyone has thier own opinion and there are rarely ever any conclusions reached, but this is just my 2 cents.i respect eveyone's right to use whatever carrier they choose.
BTW...thanks for the plug Garyz. who else gives away all that free stuff but us?

Mikemck, fears unfounded. The box arrived today just as the same time you responded to this post! What timing!

Although I was getting a bit concerned after almost 2 weeks!

Has everyone heard that FEDEX and USPS are teamimg up, kinda. You will be able to drop FEDX packages at your PO. The USPS is going to start using FEDEX planes to help with their shipping. I saw this on the news the other night. Interesting.

i heard something along those lines. it is somewhat of a symbiotic relationship. we are going to deliver their rural mail.when i worked at the airport p.o., airborne was always bringing packages to us that were not cost effective for them to deliver,or they were not able to deliver, and mailing them to their customer through us!

I think this "teaming up" was inevitable as I' ve seen colored carboard ads pasted in my local PO branch showing services from Fed Ex for some time now. I wonder though, if this will add any significant changes to the actual delivery time (good or bad); if there will be any cost differences; and how the PO will handle inquiries/ claims...

one thing i can tell you from working at the airport p.o....we use commercial airlines to fly alot of priority. when they have to hold mail off due to heavy passenger load, or bad weather [extra fuel needed]that causes delays in delivery. this is a major reason for the lag in delivery times over the holidays. most people don't know this. we need our own planes. hopefully this will be more of a help than a henderance.
