The Les George Knives Thread

Another disassembly and cleaning, this time of a newer Talos. During reassembly I noted that the blade was centered before installing the pivot screw. I think this is the first knife that’s been like that for me. On all other knives, I tighten and adjust the pivot screw to impact the blade centering and action. Anyway, next up is the button lock.

I noticed the same thing when disassembling mine! Not sure what’s going on in that shed down in Blue Springs, MS but Les and Parker are on fire.

The latest iteration of the VECP and the Talos V2 are spectacular!

But you didn't clean under the thumbstuds! 😲

Did LG do any ESV runs in Damascus?
That’s a great question! There are a number of custom ESRs and Mini Harpy’s w/ Damascus blades but I do not know of any production ESVs w/ Damascus blades.

I know for 100% certainty that there were none from this current run done for USA Made Blade. I’m fairly confident that the batch done before the USA Made Blade Exclusive run were all MagnaCut.

Perhaps prior to the MagnaCut and S45VN production runs there were some made with Damascus blades but I have never seen one! If they do exist I must track one down! 🤣

Cleaning the button lock VECP. Definitely the dirtiest compared to the frame locks. norcalAF norcalAF , please note steps have been added to my disassembly procedure and the thumbstuds have been removed ;)

That's really interesting, I assumed the button lock was on bearings, damn, LG is a wizard with them washers!

For some reason, the button on my VECP was abnormally hard to actuate out of the blue this morning. Hit it with some Slip 2000 EWL, worked it a few times, let it sit a few minutes and seems to have mostly handled the issue. We shall see.

Posted this pic in the George Knives FB Group but figured I share here as well.

Aside from the dagger, I don’t think there is a more “George” knife than the Rockeye / VECP. Absolutely love the lines on these knives!
