The Les George Knives Thread

Most Les fans know that the FM-1 was his first folder (it stands for Folder Model 1, after all ;)). What many may not realize, however, is that the Rockeye was actually based on his fixed blade Model 1. Considering the Rockeye directly led to the ESR, VECP, and ESV, one could consider those old fixed blades as the "grandaddies" of them all. I thought it would be fun to capture that lineage here:

2016 Monkey Muster Rockeye
2010 Tephra G10 ESR
2025 Morph VECP
2013 MEFP ESV
My boy Derek has to be the most knowledgeable dude out there on anything and everything LG. Pretty sure he knows more than Les himself at times 😆. Very nice spread my friend!

Thanks for the kind words, Travis. 🙏 But I definitely don’t know more about Les’s knives than he does. He likes to joke that his memory isn’t great because of being “blown up at” during his EOD days, but honestly, I think his recall is pretty impressive. For example, I bought a Super FM-1 a few months ago from a gentleman who thought he’d gotten it around 2008. That sounded a bit early to me, so I asked Les. Not only did he remember that he didn’t start making Super FM-1s until 2009, but he even dug up and sent me an old newsletter from that time to confirm it. Long story short, Les is a humble guy with a sharper memory, and brain, than he gives himself credit for.

That's was for how tightly you got them boards together in the backdrop.
its actually contact paper on an old beat up table im too cheap to replace......wife hates it but makes me grin when she complains how ugly it is and how cheap I am........

I'll be happy to bring it up with Spark if and when Les ever wants to make the commitment for a sub-forum. But those decisions are in his court and the mods can only provide suggestions and their input.

Happy Tuesday, all. Here’s my catch-up post.

All of these are Tanto VECPs, with the two DLC bladed variants each having something special about them. The Morph VECP features a hand-engraved clip by frequent Les George scratch maestro David Riccardo, and the two-tone DLC Tanto is a one-of-one that Les put together using a mix of parts from other configs. The longer I’ve been collecting, the more I’ve come to appreciate the unique pieces, even the ones that came about by accident.

I was hoping I'd have time to get my post in before you inevitably dropped this nuclear line up today! 😂 Spectacular!
