Topo Talos Tuesday for Day 21 🤙

This one features a deep laser engraved Topo pattern, FDE DLC, DLC hardware, and a stunning hand ground blackout boomerang damascus blade.

Fun fact: Les intended to send DLT 24 12 Days Talos last year but didn’t finish in time. This blade was intended for that 24th knife.

I was fortunate to pick it up from Les at BladeShow TX this year. Necroanax Necroanax and I had a blast at the show. So much more relaxed than the chaos that is ATL, which meant we could pester Les and the D7 boys for hours w/out upsetting them too terribly much 😬😂

Happy Titan Tuesday!

Up for your viewing pleasure is a Hydra XL, made circa 2011. A serious piece from Les’s early custom era, where he would occasionally make giant versions of his standard models.

  • Chad Nichols MokuTi dovetailed bolster
  • Contoured G10 showside overlay
  • Hand-rubbed blade
  • Overall length: 10.5" with a 4.5" blade 👹

Not only did we have lots of time to chat with the crew, Les gave us cookies. You can't beat that! 🍪
 
So what’s yall’s guess on what the 12 days knife will be. I’m thinking and hoping it’ll be a dammy myna. It’s the only model he’s yet to do with a dammy blade. It’s also the only one I would want so I’m biased.

Jason did confirm that Les is going to do a batch of dammy Mynas for DLT but they decided to do them long after Les made the original batch of Mynas. Damn shame, as a hand ground dammy Myna would be a dream and my preference as well!

My guess is that it's a VECP of some kind... He's deep into production of this most recent run and barely released any other than a few at shows and his one website drop. Moreover, I got to imagine that, after the wild success of the 2022 12 Days intrepid dammy VECP, he's been asked to do a VECP for 12 Days again an infuriating number of times 😂

I wouldn’t be surprised either if it’s a vecp dammy. Unfortunately I would probably pass. Don’t really need anymore dammy vecps but I know it’s a crowd favorite. On the bright side it would save me some money and stress of scoring one. 😂

Id also love to see a thumb disc myna someday. He did tell me once that ‘25 was going to be the year of the myna. And the year started off strong with the myna but haven’t seen much of em lately. I’m sure dealing with his personal issues mid summer derailed that plan.

I was actually surprised to see him and chellette at a really small custom knife show in La. If he would’ve had one those bad boys I would have definitely snagged one. Beautiful!!!

Yeah I’ve been eyeballing the mokuti inlay Chellette at USA made blade for a while now
