The Les George Knives Thread

Still lovin' on the Myna, Mitch. Fits great in my hand, action is snappy and the edge is refined. Good looking package all around. Hurry up and get that MK3 in the mail. ☺️

Really glad to hear. It’s an easy knife to love! I too love how it feels in the hand. And everytime I carry it I think to myself it’s my favorite. But that seems to happen with my other LGs as well.

I would gladly send you an MK3 to try but a knife in the mail is probably the only thing in this world that gives me extreme anxiety!

I'd never let you do it, Mitch. I've turned down offers from other friends as well, such as that swamp ape critter that hangs around here.

Not worth the risk. I'd rather buy one than chance a friend losing a valuable piece.

I’ve done the exact same thing when receiving similar offers. It would kill me inside if someone’s knife got lost in the mail or even worse if I damaged or lost it.

😂swamp ape😂

I almost passed on the new vecp. So glad I didn’t. It’s the first brand new vecp I’ve ever had. Really enjoying breaking this bad boy in. It’s already gotten smoother.

I’m fighting my normal urge to break it down, clean and lube it. Gonna actually listen to the king himself and use wd40 and compressed air to clean as needed instead. It’s been working wonders on my other knives.

My pivot was backing out so mine has already been broken down, given an alcohol bath, re-lubed with my products of choice, and had teflon tape wrapped around the pivot screw. It immediately felt better and continues to improve the more I play with it. I did find myself wondering as I took it apart on the day after I received it if I would have been the first one to pull apart their 12 days knife this year.

My pivot did the same but I just pulled the screw and added teflon. Good to go.

Was it noticeably smoother after a cleaning?

I’ve been wondering if breaking them in as they come from the maker for a good while actually helps with the smoothness long term. My thinking is the grit and lack of lube actually polishes the washer n scales resulting in a much smoother action. Gonna give it a try with this one.
