The Les George Knives Thread

Day 2!

I'm really liking this one a lot, very comfortable with superb action.

how does this coating wear? Do we know if it scratches easily? What I love is how scratch resistant the stonewash is..

Well. DLC is the most scratch-resistant coating.

But stonewash isn't a coating at all and hides scratches because it was basically pre-scratched all over.

So DLC wears extremely well, but stonewash will probably look the same longer if that makes sense.

Yah I like how I can't tell the stonewash is wearing because its already pre-scratched. I think on the VECP with the morph it would be even harder to tell wear.

good to know the DLC is pretty scratch resistant though.

I briefly had a black morph esv. The one time I carried it I scraped the clip on a brick wall. Thought for sure I scratched it. The marks wiped right off. I was shocked and very impressed.

In the pockets today:

2021 12 Days of DLT VECP w/ hand-ground 204P blade. After foolishly passing on this in 2021 I spent about 4-5 months hunting one of these down last year.

In addition, my beloved BPU Half Track Wharny, which I scored at the 2022 USA Made Blade open house. Unfortunately, it sent me down the perilous path of chasing BPUs 😂

Well I have my tan DLC MK3 now, but I am working in the office this week and can't take random breaks to take pictures of piles of knives while wearing a dirty white t-shirt and boxer shorts like I would do normally while working from home.

Some time after they sent most of us administrative-type people to remote work permanently after COVID, they enacted a lot more 'security' policies. We now have weapons detectors at the larger patient entry points to the hospital campus, a lot more cameras and locked doors, and the new policy requires employees to go through the screening every time they use an entrance with screening and forbids knives completely. They used to not care about pocket knives.

My response to this was to add more guns and knives onto my desk at home.

I'm technically in a lab off campus not owned or leased by my employer, so I'm ignoring all their policies at the moment. And when I do need to go on campus, badge access works for non-screening access points. Not that I've ever done that, of course.

Yeah… I’m not a huge fan of ME. If it weren’t for their special editions, which are always so badass, I would never shop there.

Never liked how they jack up the price of Hinderers by $25-$50 on every model and charge outrageous shipping costs 🙄😑
I've never understood how they have a corner on frag patterns and don't even make a knife themselves. You would think these manufacturers would say the hell with you and make and sell them themselves and cut the middle man out. Doesn't make sense to me

But then they wouldn't get to put the little monkey face on the knife!
