The Les George Knives Thread

How do you like the OG -Gunstock scales on that AD20 Bowie?
They are my favorite even over the factory ti scales. The only problem is trying to get them, I’ve tried to get another set after waiting many months for these and they aren’t always for sale. Not sure how often they take orders for them. I really don’t understand their business model.

Thanks man, I know exactly what you are saying I already have dealt with them and I know it takes a while to get them.

Congrats. Enjoy it and be safe out there.

I haven't been riding for a few years, but I keep on thinking about it. Here's my ride at Tortilla Flat, AZ on a ride I took from Miami, FL to UT and back.
6000 miles over 3 weeks.

Now this is something that I can get behind! I’ve always wanted to go on a long trip out west like this, hats off to you for actually doing it. So many guys will go on a trip like this but will trailer it until they get there. That’s all part of the experience. Thank you sir!

I've never had a motorcycle trailered. Done many a ride from FL to NC, FL to WV etc, but that trip was the granddaddy of them all for us.
I rode out to Phoenix solo. Then my wife flew out to meet me, and she did the rest of the trip riding pillion.,.up to Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, around and down through Monument Valley etc.

It was fantastic...but having done several 800 mile days over the years, it can be exhausting, especially in severe weather.

nice. looks good. enjoy 'er.

now for the bummer message. ride safe, wear proper safety gear.....and make sure ya got right insurance coverages to protect yourself and your family. I hate being the doomsday gloom but I lost two of my best friends on bikes when I was a young man. seen many more go since then and seriously injured and the aftermath of not being prepared properly.

Absolutely I’ve lost a few friends over the years as well. Back in the day I actually was in a MC club wore the rags with the three piece patch etc. Had lots of fun but those crazy days are behind me and yes I will wear a helmet these days. I’m not quite ready to check out yet. Thanks my friend.

I actually enrolled in long term care insurance back when I was making all the cross country trips by motorcycle so that my wife wouldn't be saddled with having to care for me in a worst case situation. The only good thing about having enrolled so many years ago is that our policies are way less expensive than what anyone would pay currently for equivalent coverage.

And yeah, good gear is paramount.
