The Les George Knives Thread

I’ll be honest, and I don’t take your comment in a bad way at all, but it’s something that does make me hesitate to post sometimes. I think there’s a pretty thin line between sharing pieces you’re excited about and it coming across like one-upmanship, and that’s not something I’m trying to do.

One of the things I’ve really liked about this group is how people get genuinely excited about whatever they have, whether it’s one knife or a dozen. That’s a big part of why I enjoy being here, and I wouldn’t want to shift that into anything competitive.

If it looks like I’ve got a lot, it’s really just because I literally don't collect anything outside of Les George knives. I’ve just funneled most of my hobby time and energy into this one lane over the last handful of years, and that kind of focused interest, along with the kindness and generosity of the LG community, has naturally lead to a deep drawer of interesting knives.

Don’t hesitate!! For a second. Awesome to see. 🫡

There are few quicker paths into my good graces than asking about obscure pieces in my collection. ;)

That’s a Super FM-1, one of Les’s earliest folder designs, even predating the Rockeye. It debuted in 2009, and Les actually licensed the Spydie hole directly from Spyderco for it. As you can see, it’s an absolutely massive knife. I own plenty of more ornate pieces, but there aren’t many in my collection I enjoy more than this one. There’s something about the sheer, almost childlike glee of picking up what is essentially a folding pocket sword and flicking it about. 11.125" overall, 5" blade, 12.95 oz, with a deep belly and heavy stonewash on both the scales and blade.
