The Les George Knives Thread

I won’t hide in the shadows for too long on this one, especially with flippers / scalpers in the midst. Necroanax Necroanax can attest to that. I picked it up to try as a user. Price was too good to pass on, at least relative to what I paid for my very similar ESR.
I can attest! I was actually happy the ESR I got was already a user. I lament being too afraid to mess up the pristine stuff in my collection. It's cool having a 14+ year old tank of a knife that's still going strong.

Finally arrived. And I'm kinda thinking this is gonna be in heavy rotation for the rest of the one-month challenge...

Yea, I'm loving my bark handle and the PJ handle servo. Just needed a little plumbers tape on the pivot screw to keep it from loosening up. Flips like a dream and is drop shut!

These 2 . So similar but so different . The Talos is so refined compared to the Strider .

For example, I spent an hour and a half sharpening the SnG yesterday . From the factory it came 30 dps on one side and 27 degrees on the other . Wtf?

The LG is a better slicer hands down

Happy Defiant 7 Saturday. Missing a few to help round out the collection. I had an M320 with the molded handle and wasn’t a fan. I’m thinking the ones with Micarta will be better. Also still after the right Kumu.

Wow, that’s 2 of the best d7’s I’ve seen. That mystery collection never ceases to amaze.

No better time than a Saturday to get together a family pic! 😁

Day 27: Sibling Saturday

I've always liked the idea of a big brother/little brother knife duo so when I got a killer deal on an ESV, I decided to make it a reality. I sent my ESV to Way of Knife for a cracked earth laser pattern. The Michigan boys were kind enough to work with me in matching the engraving style as apparently getting the lasering to both be textured and blackened requires some tweaking that wasn't a simple pick-it-from-the-website modification. I sent them the VECP picture and they knew exactly what to do. I think it turned out incredibly well. The ESV is super grippy and feels great in hand. It's been getting a lot of pocket time lately.

That looks absolutely SiCK! I had been trying to figure out how to do the exact same thing (with WoK) without an original in hand. Appears they have it down! Very impressive pieces. Love that pattern as well as the Woody. Curious.... have heard this pattern referenced as Cracked Earth and as Driftwood. Know which is official to Les?

Thanks!

"Cracked Earth" = Way of Knife's pattern
"Driftwood" = Les's pattern on that VECP
"Woody"= Les's pattern on the new Servo

Les has used the "Driftwood" and "Woody" pattern on other knives as well. They're somewhat similar, but the "Driftwood" covers the entire scale while the "Woody" is only on part of it.

Good to know. Thank you. Had tried to get a Woody on the last VECP drop so I am new....but familiar. Let's just say I have files and files of pictures saved. ;)

Would highly recommend to all to ck out all 36 pgs of listings for Les on ack. So far it’s the best collection of pics of his work that I’ve come across online. Goes all the way back to 2010.
