The Les George Knives Thread

This was a great challenge and while I only carry a few of my Les George knives, it gave me opportunity to put each one in hand to at least get some pictures. I still don’t have a full family photo but I’ve captured most of my collection during this challenge. I’ll end with shots of my two favorite folders. I wanted to catch them outside but it was dark when I left for work and dark when I got home. For your enjoyment, a full dress Harpy and a Morph FM-1.

I knew you had that killer FM-1, but I had no idea your Harpy looked like THAT. My goodness. Boomerang Damascus and what I can only describe as "12 Hits of Acid" MokuTi scales. I need to sit down after looking at that one. 🤤

Thanks guys. It’s a testament to Les and his master craftsmanship. This has definitely been an enabling challenge and I have spent a lot on new to me knives over the last month and added even more to my want-to-buy list.

This challenge has proven to me the veracity of the Pareto Principle (aka the 80/20 rule). I firmly believe that 80% of Les's knives are owned by 20% of his customer base. You are definitely not alone in having an expensive month. As per usual, I blame mitchnola mitchnola for enabling our addiction and hoarding. 🤬

If you ever want to move that Persian, please keep me on your short list... that beauty has been haunting my dreams!

Although I’m still in recovery from seeing vt_jimmay vt_jimmay ’s FM-1 and Harpy last night… I did manage to pick my jaw up off the floor for a couple minutes and snap a full folder collection shot!

This is my entire folder collection minus the Tanto VECP I have in bound. One might say I have a type 😂

While I do not have the largest collection, every knife pictured has a story. A tremendous (almost embarrassing) amount of patience, persistence, and passion has gone into assembling this group. I am beyond grateful for each piece, but more importantly, the truly amazing people I have met on this collecting journey.

Cheers to the hunt & this crazy community we are privileged to be apart of - Happy Thursday my friends 🍻

Fellas, let's please keep the private trade and sale talk to PMs...this thread is in GKD, not the Exchange, and there are no special allowances granted for it.

Can't appear to treat this thread differently than others.

Thanks.

As the great saying from Old School goes...You're my boy Blue! Haha give these law breakers hell! You've always been very fair we passionate Les Heads get carried away with King George at times😉

We don’t expect any special treatment just because we’re ya favorite group. Just happy to have ya in the gang!

King George for life!!
😂

Curious what everyone is carrying day 1 after the challenge?

Because of the challenge I don’t think I’ve gotten to carry this one since I’ve gotten it. This is probably my favorite Damascus pattern although the intrepid pattern is a close second. While happy to finally get to carry it, truth be told, the real challenge was not grabbing the new Talos.

Wow . 2 questions . Top 3? And what is your favorite non flipper hinderer ?

Thanks! Definitely a labor of love :) A Top 3 is impossible for me to pick. The BPU Half Track, BPU Bowie XM18, and the Bronze DLC VECP for various reasons are probably the most special to me but again we're seriously splitting hairs here.

I'll PM you about the Hinderer question!

I believe that's the best knife photo you've ever captured, which is quite a statement considering the many incredible ones you've taken. You are a remarkable talent!

The Swayback was begging for some pocket time today...
