The life of a BK17

Ironically the 17 was the tweener I wanted first. And yet it is now the only one I don't have.

Nice pictures, nice knife,

Thanks! Do you guys have any suggestions of things to do with the 17/bushcraft challenges?

Feather sticks! Here's some of mine

Good practice for bushcraft/survival is making four-prong fish spears

I use apple cider vinegar, brown or yellow mustard (depending what is closest to me), and a secret ingredient that I'm not about to share.

I soak some paper towels in the vinegar, and smear the mustard in paterns on the blade. You don't need the secret ingredient, it just makes it patina faster. Then fold the paper towels over the blade and let it sit for a few hours.

I hope this helps!

That really is a darn good looking becker you have there. Love the handles and patina. Gorgeous.

Awesome post! I have a BK-17 that I got for Christmas and now I'm motivated to personalize mine. Love your patina & handles. Thanks!! :D

Argh! The 17 is the only tweener I don't have! :grumpy: I'll have to fix that because I think it will be my favorite. Great pics! Thanks and God bless!
