The longest you've carried one knife?

Opinel #10 and SAK Farmer each got about 4 or 5 months carry last year. G10 Byrd has been EDC'd since I got it a few months ago.

I carried a Victorinox Tinker, bought in Germany, for ten years. I gave it to a riding buddy of mine and bought a Fieldmaster and have carried the same knife for eleven years now. I've changed my one hand folders and fixed blades for military and woods carry many times but rarely the SAK! Well, actually I've changed the toothpick a few times in that Fieldmaster!

Carried a Schrade stockman since about 1963-64... before I even knew it was a called a stockman. Served me well for trapping, through high school, college, the Army and still gets carried today. I guess that means I've carried it for going on 42 - 43 years.

I have been carrying a fieldmaster pretty much everyday for the last two years or so. I usually carry another folder which changes every few days but the sak is a constant.

If a Leatherman counts, I have had my Micra for almost 6 years and have it just about every day.
My main EDC does tend to vary.

I carried a Victorinox Adventurer daily for about 5 years when I lived in Prague beginning in the early 1990s. Great knife. Still have it and still carry it from time to time.

Carried a Benchmade/Emerson CQC7 , for about four years , and a mini AFCK for three . Recently carried a Strider PT for two years .

Hammond Cruiser - three years. Then I handled Endura. I think I will carry this one until it will be broken or lost.

A SAK for, probably the last 20 years or so. Plus a whole lot of others in addition. But the SAK always goes into my pocket first.

I carried a Buck Cadet (small stockman slipjoint) for about 12 years.
Carried a SAK Tinker for about 5.
Carried one of the early Leathermans for about 3.
Carried a Gerber LST for a few also right after they came out. Can't put a number to it.
And I carried a Klein 44034 for a couple of years. Can't put a number to that one either.

Those are the only ones that I ever carried day-in day-out. The rest of the time I've varied what I carried depending on where I was and what I was doing.

Longest EDC was my first knife, a Kamp King first slipped into my pocket at age 12 and carried 15 years, then impulsively given away to a girl friend who promptly lost it. I couldn't understand why anyone would want to carry a single bladed folder when, in the same pocket space, it was possible to also have a whole array of useful tools (that came later). This was followed by a succession of SAKs, broken, lost or stolen until bonding with a Swisschamp about 13 years ago, which I still carry but not every day.

That's because in 1996, Leatherman tools came to my attention. Loved the pliers, but not completely satisfied with the PST. Within a year, though, I was totally happy with a Super Tool/Micra combo that I carried every day for the next three years. Then EDC life became a little more complicated, but that's another story.

I also carry either a Delica, Endura or Buck 110, but only under certain circumstances and not every day.

My Microtech LCC D/A has seen the most carry, going on 6 years in January.

I've worn out 2 sheaths, and am working on a 3rd. The cut-out clip was never replaced with the solid one they put on later models, hence the sheath. I'll still occasionally put the clip back on and carry it that way.

Another one is my A. G. Russell damascus lockback with Chinese Quince wood handles and NiAg bolsters. I've owned that one longer than any other quality knife I have (going on 12 years) but it doesn't see as much carry as it used to.

A Spyderco Endura for ten years on the job, that's five days a week and every fourth weekend.

One (1) year with a Spyderco Military Full serrated. I needed it day after day on the job and it never let me down. It looks rough today but is still ready for duty when I need a Pocket Saw!!!

Schrade Cliphanger CH8 almost every day for the last 2 years until last month when I broke the tip off!

I just ordered a Spyderco Military last week, I'll see how long that will last.:)

i have gone through a number of different folders and still rotate. benchmade, emerson, crk, swamprat.

i have been carrying the same small blue sak for almost 10 years on my keychain.
