The loss of a favorite and disappointment in a friend...

AM,
I think its good of you to forgive him. I would hope that if I was stupid enough to make tell a lie to get out of an uncomfortable situation, but then realized how dumb I was to risk a friendship, that I would be forgiven--at least once. How many of have never told a lie because we were embarased or nervous about telling the truth? The fact that he came clean says something about him that is good. Its even harder to say "yes, I screwed up your knife, AND I lied." He clearly values your friendship.

Considering your knives, I'd perhaps let him look at whatever you get new, over the carpet, and then say, "hey, I'm going to put this away now." Some people just don't understand the level of care some of us give our knives and guns, and never will.

I don't think so. I mean, I think it's awfully decent of Artfully Martial not to say a word to either of his friends. For me, it's just plain decency if a friend of yours lends you something of his/hers, for you to take care of it as best as you can and to keep an extra eye out for it ... which doesn't translate to losing it or dropping something you already know is expensive on the floor.

If a friend lends something to me, he/she can expect to get it back as good as it came and with much thanks from me. On the few times that hasn't happened (CD case cracked in my backpack, other people in the household messed it up) I have always told them about it upfront, apologized profusely and offered to buy a new one for them.

Not trying to say that everyone *must* do things this way, but " 'Nuff said, get over it" is a bit much.

P.S. The Mcusta Kasumi is very good looking as well.

I am not saying breaking other peoples stuff is ok, I am saying that once you acknowledge your mistake and make it right it should not matter anymore.

His friend came clean, didn't he? He actually payed for a new one (something not too many people do if you read through all the "coworker-broke-my-knife -threads") so I am saying this should be an issue anymore. And guess what, it isnt, at least that's what Artfully Martial says.

How many scratches have you put on your T.A. Davison?

I have two. and the answer is the blade has a few from use and the other was dropped in the street at 50mph! why do you ask?

You dont use your knives do you? I bet you have a glass case maybe?

I use all my knives. I dont buy em to impress anyone but me. If I sell one it will have scratches in it and you can send it back to Todd to buff for you!

any other questions son?

How about taking a little time and finding a Spyderco Lum Chinese...

or just a simple little Ti ZDP Leek.

ever had a good balisong?

Well, aside from that I take pristine care of certain knives, this being one of them, he actually admitted to me away from the others that he had dropped it in the parking lot.

The offset is cool, and tempting, but it's just too big and too wild. I did ask for flashy, but that clip is just over the top. They have a G10 handled one coming out, and had it an uncoated blade too, it'd be a real contender, but as it stands, it's too big and too much. I don't think Kershaw has anything for me this time, but maybe I'm overlooking something. Now if I could just pony up a few k for a real KO.

Very observant. The blade coating of the Offset is indeed quite dull, and the whole thing is too big 'n heavy to carry for me too - it just crowns my KKO collection.
I can't agree with you about the clip. That is typically Ken Onion, much more so than in any other Kershaw versions.
There are less flashy, more restrained and classical-looking Onions though.
At some point you'll want to get one, I believe; better make it quick before even the second-hand ones go through the roof. ;-)

Well, actually, Thomas W weighed in on another post and said the G10 offset would have an uncoated blade, so I'm much more interested now. We'll see about that one. As per the clip, I don't think it's a bad clip, just not for me. But clips are the best part not to agree with--I can just have one custom made, no biggie.

I actually went to buy the Gravitator yesterday and my dealer was SOLD OUT! Aughh. All that deliberation....
