The MASSIVE INCREDIBLE PAY IT FORWARD THREAD - PART DEUX!

Hey guys I just want to throw this out there but not derail the thread. If some one has a need of something, and says so, and then someone gives them what they need (or really want), that should be fine. The paying forward part means that the receiver should then "pay it forward" by giving what they can to someone else in need. That's why it's paying forward instead of pay back. :)
THere have been some really good exchanges on here due to members mentioning things they need. I think the paying forward part has typically been followed through and then some.
 
Thinking of paying something forward, but I don't want to pay something forward to someone just clicking refresh and snatching up people's stuff and paying nothing forward themself.
 
Please disregard my previous comment then. I have a different understanding of what this thread is about.

What is it? Blade Forums people are usally pretty good, and you could say that it is only for people that have paid forward.

Doesn't have to be a knife, brother. It's just about sharing and passing on. Sharpeners, watches, flashlights, tents, camping gear, bow gear, ghn mags...it has all been posted. Feel free to think of something you haven't used or picked up for 5-6 months.

I had a Sapien up. I might, might put up my little mini bushlore. A bushcraft blade doesn't have to be 4-5 inches and made by ESEE/Becker/Fallkniven whatever. It just has to do what you want it to. Most people like scandi grinds for woodwork but they're awful for food prep, so some prefer flat ground.

Best thing you can do is set your own rules on it, then whoever responds, pick the first that followed said rules. We have to police ourselves.

Lol, of course not. Svtpourciau got it. Just saying, I'd pick Condor over a lot of knives for a first bushcraft blade. Condor or Mora. And I do own 3 ESEEs and a BK16. My D Farmer is my fave though. Friggin hemp wrapped handles...gets me everytime.

Calm down there killer, that's no way to convince him whatever he has will truely go to someone who needs it. If he wants to post it up he will in good time. I'm not trying to police anyone but to me that comment came off a little ungreatful, like "ok I gave something now someone give me something back".

It doesn't have to just be knives bud, I understand, I'm Young too. Heck, I posted up an autograph and necklace lol. Next may be another autograph...

I don't know About collecting purposes but if you didn't have something and saw it posted, the folks here would be more than glad to pass it on. Just call it and pay back in your own way, whatever you can give.

I don't keep score, in not into that. Keep it a goodwill thread, not trading.

Ha, funny enough the handmade one you posted looks to be a perfectly suited bushcraft knife to me :)

I think what you're looking for is what i think of as more of a wilderness/camp/ survival blade

I've done this, it works fairly well. I have tried to introduce some kind of random variable in the offer, as have others, so everyone has a fair chance. Not many gripes, works out pretty well. Also some have included conditions (military service, only going to someone who hasn't received yet, etc). And some have given behind the scenes, member to member. Be positive and have fun

I really wish everyone would do this. Not to mention paying it forwards means if you take something you should post something. IMO it should be even. You take one, you give one. Not you take 6 give two.
 
This thread is pretty interesting. I've seen things like this on other forums and there will be always individuals who will just enter to "score" free stuff. But regardless of those individuals, I understand the point of this thread and I like this spirit of giving. I'll try to offer something up in the next week or when time permits. There's always someone who needs a decent leather strop ;) Not looking for anything myself at moment.
