If you have around 50 posts or less... and more than half of them is asking for stuff free, then this message is for you. If not carry on.

For the awesome people who do participate, and take the time to answer others questions THANK YOU and you ROCK.

I have been blessed here and have gotten quite a few things that ROCK! But I also give here in this thread and ALL OVER BF.. before this thread was ever made I have had 4 or 5 give-aways and contests just this year. Im not rich, i get 1500 bucks a month total, my rent is 850, my utilities come to 300 and i have 2 small children and food isnt cheap, you do the math. And i still find ways to help and give... but Im here all the time, and love the place, granted i spend most my time in the Becker, Busse, and swamp rat sides but im here, participating, enjoying the people and the stories, helping others with questions and problems and so much more.

This place is my home. I dont sleep, i have been a member 1 year and have well over 5000 posts. SO when i see someone that keeps disrespecting or taking advantage of my home i start to get upset, but like others say, we just let them carry on with their lives and ignore them.

I think that everytime someone list something, they should look at the persons profile page that claims it, and if all they do is search the forums for free stuff, they need to pass it to the next person who participates here. People spending hundreds of dollars on knives, but have no care to donate the measly 20-30 dollars to be a gold member or even take the time to get to know the other members and all they do is use the search function for GAWs and contest, these people should be ignored completely.

I spoke my mind and will ignore the bastards from now on... carry on

I hear you and agree, lets not let "them" interfere. This place
is amazing; my opinion is lets keep it this way. No interloper would understand anyway, so let's keep it for "us", those that want to give.

Seems like at some point or another everyone has said it. Spreading the love is a great idea, but I don't think it can be treated like socialism. Some people are givers. Some are takers. Some a bit of both. When people do not contribute it hinders and hurts the positive aspect of this thread. Don't look at the comments such as these as the cause of negativity; rather, they are the effect, the result of others harshing the vibe. Some people are blunt and choose to speak up about it.

Beyond that, I've run into a few really great people here in this singular thread, that in another place on the forum I might have overlooked or gotten away with a single post in this thread or that. Here I feel like some people are finding their place, and they simply don't want their good time ruined by grasping and clutching. To not acknowledge ill behavior is to reward it.

Well said. I'm going to strongly suggest when we do part 3 that you have to be a paying member to participate.
 
I, for one, would like to thank all of you guys who made and are making this possible. The ones who are truly giving and actually interested in what's happening here. I literally own 4 knives (only one of which cost me over $20) and I just gave one away because I'm getting something awesome from Iceman. I don't really understand the taking mentality but I'm sure grateful for those of you who are helping others more than I can.
Please keep it up and know that most of us appreciate what you're doing.
 
Hey Psyop gifted me a gold membership a couple of days ago And I know from other posts that it takes a while for them to set it up. But am I missing something.

I go to settings but I don't see anything to change can someone help me

I think its settings, then paid subscriptions to the left

May i ask whats this thread all about? i just came across it today looking for new home so to say since kershaw forum was closed, i miss my time talking knives. would love to meet some new people who may help me learn.....

You go to Settings, then on the left it will say Permission Group. Click on that tab and it will ask whether you want to be identified as registered or gold.
 
I have been told to go to settings and then permission groups. I have been to paid subc. but the only thing I find there is if I want to pay for it..

Psyop and I have both posted on the tech link but no reply. I just posted there again, maybe I will here something tomorrow.

It's about paying forward. Gifting others with items you don't use or need, and possibly finding some that you do. Giving is the idea behind the thread. It isn't a giveaway, or gimme gimme kind of deal, nor a trade thread. It's more of a sharing thread.
 
Man i got me a good one!!!

So i got an email at 2am... just 15 minutes ago, from my wife. But my wife is passed out sleeping, so i was a little confused. I opened it up and she had set up a timed email to come to me at 2am, and had this plate hidden for me as my late night meal.

We has spagetti for dinner, im not sure how she slipped this food past me without me knowing, but man i cant be happier, fried chicken potato wedges and a roll, she knows me oh so well! Then she tossed a couple white kit-kats in the mix too... Now im going to clean the house spic and span for her, so when she wakes up the place is spotless.

Man they dont get no better than the one i was lucky enough to snatch up.

I suggest you go back and read the first post of the prior thread. We had to start a new one because after 6 days there were over 1500 posts LOl
