How's the tip thickness on the usmc? On the 187 I had the thin, shallow hollow grind made the tip so dainty . I wish that Greg would switch to grinding his knives more like the strider .I see an On Belay, 187 and TFF all at $300 on the secondary market right now. I feel sorry for the bull that run's into one of those. They look really thick, but I was amazed at how thin the edges got of all the knives I handled at the store. Even the beefiest beefcakes got into PM2 territory behind the edge.
My dad has a spring assisted version of that, and at one time I had a little slipjoint version that I ended up giving him.Reminds me of this.

I got my Medford 187f (flipper) from arizonacustomknives a secondary seller. Best flipper of all my knives and I didn’t have to spend premium money.Might have to look around on the secondary market for a good user. Probably more in my price range if its a bit rough in the looks department, but still fine as far as functionality.
How do you find they cut? I know when sharp they will slice paper and such. With the stock so thick though, do you find they bind up or cut poorly through thick medium? It seems they wouldn't work great but perhaps im wrong.I got my Medford 187f (flipper) from arizonacustomknives a secondary seller. Check out that video of the Marauder vs the PM 2 cutting thru tires........How do you find they cut? I know when sharp they will slice paper and such. With the stock so thick though, do you find they bind up or cut poorly through thick medium? It seems they wouldn't work great but perhaps im wrong.
This one has tempted me as well even though I have zero use for a knife like this. Just something about it. Not going to drop $700+ though. I did get a Proxima which approaches this size and not quite as battle ready looking. Really enjoy my 187DP and glad I revisited Medfords again
Oh hell yes. I love it too.You went all in on the faced and flamed huh? Very nice.
So far all of mine were bought on the secondary market so I paid far less than retail. The Flipper Fighter still commands a hefty price used so not one I will likely see any time soon.As far as pricing goes for MKT, the Proxima is a great value. Although, I feel the real sweet spot is the 187 DP - in particular, the DLT Exclusive in CPM-3V.
Btw, the Proxima can reach $700+ pretty easily.

I agree the entire 187 series are the best value Medfords. Several lengths, G10 and full Ti models, several lengths and configurations and even new, "reasonably" priced.
Just added a 187 RMP Vulcan to the hoard last night
