The Mighty Mighty Moose! Post your mighty moose and provide insight to this pattern!

(((sigh))) yellow handled Rough Rider moose is in my future for 2016 ... not sure what I'll do with it ... but since Mr. Nessmuk (and if memory serves, Mr. Kephart) thought it was THE folding knife pattern to use in the boonies ...
Or did Mr. Kephart prefer the Trapper? I don't recall.

Well, thanks to this thread curiosity broke my will. It was between waiting for the 2010 to pop up and the 54. This one came in the mail Yesterday. Love this guy, Strong snap, pull, with great heft. It fits my hand better than I believe the 54 would. Totin it all week.

I have the 2010 BFC annual Queen Moose in ebony, the knife with the trip hammer back spring...

and another shameless excuse to show off my only other Moose a 1911-13 Union Knifeworks Moose Pattern, at a 100 years old and even with a broke blade this knife is still a workhorse that gets used quite regularly and it's gorgeous to hold and look at.

^^^ The jigging on that Union Knifeworks piece is incredible! The way it angles toward the shield on the mark side... wow. The pile side is great too!

One of our more knowledgeable members pointed out it was probably rehandled on the one side or a salesman sample showin' two types of jigging available.

I'm one of the least knowledgeable members but it still looks great to me. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, I guess.

I agree, pretty interesting jigging on that Union. This is the only moose pattern I own. 2013 Tuna Valley, made by Queen.

I traded a moose to Ash for one of her paracord dog leashes. I had some trepidations if it would hold up to my 100 lb meth lab, it did fine with my 90 lb old timer lab. 88 Winchester moose pattern made by Queen. I will ask her to put some pics up here.

Glad this thread was bumped. Sadly, I have a very small stable of moose.

Remington R4353 in Delrin, ca. 1985.

Camillus CCC-2, jigged bone.

I am pretty sure these two are the same knife.

I feel like the Camillus 9506 should count as a moose and not a muskrat due to the differently-styled clip blades.

Nice knives. Based on book definitions (Levine's Guide pages 190-191) I think the 2nd knife is a "bull-head" (equal end) which folks often mix in with the "moose" (serpentine). There are several other examples of the "bull-head" pattern on this page. Here's a "Texas jack" or "moose". Case uses "Texas jack" for a different pattern.

Resurrecting an old thread for a great cause! I confess that I'm not a traditional owner/user until now. I have been on a search, literally for years, for a GEC#54 Moose pattern. Preferably stag but I would have settled for wood. Well, it finally happened. I discovered this knife on a dealer site. I snagged it and it arrived today. My first traditional. I love this knife. I looked seriously at a #66 but I wanted something a bit larger. This one is spectacular and perfect in every way.... and sharp!!
