The Mighty Mighty Moose! Post your mighty moose and provide insight to this pattern!

One of the rare 6175 Case "Half-Moose" knives showed up in today's mail - mfg in 2002 with an As-ground finished blade and jigged Fire Engine Red Delrin handles. I'm putting this one in the safe! OH

Got to rooting around and found another Winchester moose. Sorry for the poor pic, but it's the only one I have right now. This one's a swell-center pattern.
Paul and O H, those are sure a couple of fine Case moose (had to look up the plural of moose - and guess what ? - it's moose) you've both displayed so well. Great captures!:thumbup:

As a general rule, I prefer jack knives, and I rather have a main blade and a smaller secondary but...
...if I used my knives alot more, I think I would pick a moose pattern, and a decently sized one.
The spey/sheepsfoot combo looks interesting to say the least.
And I love the Utica bone on those Winchester's :)

Charlie and Paul - nice stuff and great pictures to enjoy them by. Of course my new knife is really a single blade Jack, not a "Half-Moose" - but I thought it would be fun to stick it in here with other knives of the same pattern. I think I need to find one of those jigged bone Winchester Moose patterns. OH

I'm not sure if the Northwoods would be considered a "mighty moose" as I think of it more as a "mighty mouse", but that said, I like it a lot. The forum knife on the other hand definitely qualifies in my mind. ;) :)

Thank you deskil but both your Winchester's are FANTASTIC:thumbup: what is the size closed?
The large one (2913 1/2) is 4 1/4" and the swell-center (2880 1/2) is 3 7/8", while the bullhead (2991), in post # 41, is 3 5/8".

Woodrow, is that the 66? I tried ordering one once but got a jack instead and shipped it back. That ebony is beautiful!

No, it is the new run of 54s. It's 4.25" closed. The rounded bolsters let it ride in the pocket easily though. A little nicer than the Case 6375 I carry so often.

I like this one. Anyone got their new ones in?

I've not received my #54 Moose yet. It was supposed to be here Thursday. On Tuesday or Wednesday I'll have to start tracking it down with the PO.

Just received my Tidioute chestnut wormgroove yesterday. I am absolutely thrilled! The bone is just gorgeous as is the fit & finish overall. A stout pull and excellent snap, both befitting a knife of this caliber. A heck of a knife if you like a big folder. While I like the blade combo, the knife would be very interesting if it sported a sheepsfoot in place of the spear.
