The Military reviewed by Fred Perrin

Steve,

To thrust a folder (any folder unless balisong) is really not a good idea, you should used a fixed blade for that kind of job. In that kind of game you could lose your finger.

We have noticed nothing when we have thrusted the Military into Kevlar Jackets.
The Lock remained strong.
The "nich" where the lock goes is bevelled and we haven't noticed any failures.
Again this one is one of the rare strong liner locks we have ever found.

Later today we will thrust the Military again, just to check the lock as we will focus on that particular point.

Cheers,
JM

NOW OUR LAST REPORT ON THE MILITARY:

We thrust it into OAK, KEVLAR JACKET and it goes through 24 kevlar layer without any efforts (hammer grip, not the most powerful attack but the most realistic!)
We have thrusted it into a tire and the lock remains strong.
We even moved the blade after thrust and the lock remains again !
Into a vise while effectuating torsion and coils on the handle again the knife is strong and INTACT !
The Liner was bending but it holds in position !

We have sharp the Military our own way and now we have cut flying paper sheaths. The Military is a sharpness sword !

Are you convinced ?
We are !

Cheers,
JM

Nemo,

Now that is what I call a review! Why didn't you say so in the first place?

Assuming when you say the lock is "intact" it means that the lock is functioning properly when unlocking as well as locking, I am impressed.

Still, I would be more interested in a fully, double-lined "combat" folder. Would love to see a REKAT strength Military with double stainless steel liners and Rolling Lock. Who cares if the handle is a little heavier or thicker, it is a "combat" folder, right?

The S-co Viele handle is solid, the Wegner handles are solid. Why not the Military?

Is the Military handle so big that lining it with steel or Titanium would make it too heavy for the target market?

Just wondering.

Steve,

Thank you !
And our tested Military has been in very harsh testing all the last weeks.
I mean, the lock on Fred Military got a little play since we have tortured the lock but now Fred has tied the pivot with a allen again and the knife got no more play.

Also we were sure the lock would fail our tests and really we have been surprised.
I know how Fred can be cruel with the knife he want to check.

Cheers,
JM
