I've always enjoyed using larger knives but recently I've gotten tired of carrying heavy folders. I've been carrying a Benchmade Mini-Ritter in M390 though and I have to say I'm converted for sure. All the cutting ability that I need on a daily basis in a light and pocket friendly package. I know, I know, I'm preaching to the choir to many of you. I thought it would be cool to have a thread to post pictures of our "Mini" series Benchmades that we carry daily.

Also, I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to replace the grips on this one. Benchmade does such a great job with the FRN on these that I'm not sure if I wanna replace it or not. And if I do I'm not sure what to go with.

There are many forum members who can craft wonderful handles. DOAT, Keyman, IgorDed to start. They can have it made with G10, woods, or Micarta.

I personally like FRN on mini-Griptilian. I feel larger one is a bit "mushey" for my taste.

The "mini" class is my wheelhouse for sure. Mini Griptilian (6), Ritter mini griptilian (2), mini stryker(1), mini bone collector (2), north fork, sequel, emissary. Perhaps later this week I'll get a family shot.

Mini Barrage...it's my favorite. Also, the Mini Presidio. I've got that in auto.

I have tried Cuscadi, and Wilkins grips on the mini Ritters, but every time I feel the stock scales are the best in terms of weight and profile. I have medium sized hands though, so the stock scales fit perfectly fine with a bit of lanyard in my grip. If you have large hands, Wilkins grips does improve the grip substantially, but with added cost and weight.

I love the Mini Presidio my favorite Benchmade. So much so I have backups of the 525 since it was apparently disco'd :thumbdn::mad:

Yep, my mini Grips are just fine in stock FRN thank you very much... Large Grip though, while functionally sufficient in plastic, I much prefer aftermarket such as Wilkins.

... For the longest a grail of mine was a Ti Wilkins mini Grip. Figured it would be a small Sebenza killer. Found out that it does stand up to it nicely, but the added weight was just unecessary. Still a pretty and impressive knife but in the end, the mini Grip to me is perfect as is and as good an edc option compared to knives at any price point.

I have the frn, Wilkins, cuscadi and soon to have igorded.. and honestly my favorite one of of them all is a micarta cuscadi that I just bought off of the forum.. it is flat, which I love, instead of having the roundness of the stock scales. My next item I'm looking for is a Putnam mini grip scale .. I have a set of his for a large grip and they feel great, especially for the price!

But I can't be too biased! I love the large Ritters grips as well.. especially my REI Ritter grip !

5 of these are Minis

3 Mini Grips 2 with Wilkins. (G10 and Aluminum) and 2 Mini Barrages (regular and Warn G10 version)

Thanks for contributing so far guys! I still love my Ritter m390 Mini-Grip.

How much would my knife weigh if I added the G10 or Micarta scales?

I like my 556, but I don't really 'get' the Ritter version. I have no issue with the steel, I do, however, really dislike the handle material. I can't really explain it, but I don't like it. :)

Are the handles different?

It feels the same to me. The Ritter version only features a different blade design, steel, and has a stonewashed finish.

I have been carry mostly full sized Griptilians, I can never get rid of my two current minis. An old 555 in 440C and a Ritter S30V. I have converted my full sized Ritters to custom scales but the minis feels perfect the way they are, so OG factory scales will stay.

^ That's right. So IMO, they've 'fixed' an 'issue' that wasn't an issue to begin with. Again, I don't dislike the knife, I just feel as though it could be better.

Ritter handles are and always have been the exact same as all other Griptilian/mini Griptilian models.

I'm a fan of the minis. Currently giving my 707 some love this week, trying out a deep carry clip on it and loving it so far (the deep carry clip would be awesome in black oxide).

The mini Ritter is probably my top EDC, all-around, everything folder of all time, all things considered. I've got some worn micarta DOAT scales waiting for me at the house today, so I'll try to post how they look later on after they're installed. The stock scales are good enough for me, but I've just wanted to try something a little different and see how it feels. If I dislike them, you'll see them up for sale here. Though I don't need it, I wonder if BM would swap my S30V blade for the M390 so I can get a taste of that.
