Here's a few pics of my new Monster Chopper I got from Ray Rogers last week.
Kind of off topic so I decided to put comparison pics of her with my FBMLE to show the difference in size and keep it somewhat on topic. :)
Started to post pics of her in the General section but there's a lot more Chopper fans here. :)
She's made from CPM 3V steel, 17 3/4" in length, 1/2" spine, Green Micarta scales bolted on with Loveless bolts, and two 1/4" pins.
She weighs almost 5lbs and feels every bit of it !
Have to give a disclaimer for Ray as he wasn't thrilled to build her but did anyway despite thinking I'm nuts. :D
If you guys think I'm nuts, also, that's ok, all my friends and family are in agreement ! :)
Thought you guys might enjoy seeing pics of the Monster.
Would not want another chopper this big again but it's kind of cool to own just one.
Nicknamed her the "Beast" because Ray kept referring to her that way while building her. :)
Ray got the idea of the blade style from both the Kukri and Bolo.
I like the shape of the blade but everyone has different tastes.

Okay. Have to know. How much does that thing weigh?

Ray said she weighs around 5lbs but I haven't checked her on an official scale.
Tried a bathroom scale and got 4 1/2 lbs but they're not very reliable.
Originally planned to have her ground down to 3/8" thick but then decided to leave her at 1/2" just for the hell of it. :)

Man that thing makes that FAT FBMLE look anorexic. She is a beast alright.

Holy Crap! You're gonna need a knife bearer to carry that thing around.

Hope you arn't a muslim. That would be one hell of a head lopper.

Your reply reminds me of my niece (Brittney) when she picked up the knife the other day.
Brittney said... "Jeez, uncle Paul", "you could chop a dude in half with this thing from his head to his toes" LOL
Don't worry, I'm not like that. :)
btw, not a Muslim. ;)

Yeah no kidding. At that weight I may as well carry a shotgun. Anything I can't chop through I will just shot through :D

Depending on geometry of that beast...it should make for one helluva chopper.

Damn that is thick!!!

You can cut that thing in half and still make 2 substantial knives!

All I can say is that 1/2 incher is begging to lay waste to something
