The Mistress and the Beast.

Yeah no kidding. At that weight I may as well carry a shotgun. Anything I can't chop through I will just shot through :D

Depending on geometry of that beast...it should make for one helluva chopper.

But it will require radically new and different chopping skills.

1) Get hands around handle.

2) Lift knife. If necessary, get assistance to lift knife.

3) Elevate knife above 'target.'

4) Drop knife on target.

5) Admire remaining pieces.

Yep. Radically different chopping skills. :)

So much 3v!

How is the geometry? The grind only goes half way up on such a thick blade...

So that's what a 1/2 inch chopper looks like. Now the question is will you get the custom shop to make you a 1/2 inch BM to compare?

Think I suggested a while ago as a joke maybe Busse and Barrett could do a deal, buy a 50 cal rifle and get the .50 BM. Like the deal with the JH. Might have to come with a free gym membership and a few buckets of protein powder to give you a fighting chance of carrying then using either though, lol.

If that thing didn't chop through something, it would be called the BONE CRUSHER!!!
Holy Cow that is huge...

I would not want a BM in 1/2" after getting this monster but I wouldn't mind having one made in 3/8". :)
I have decided 1/2" is a bit too much in a chopper of this size.
Three eights would be awesome also and better proportioned making for a more handsome knife, imo.
No regrets on this one though as it's cool to have at least one in 1/2" like I stated before.
I have a custom Busse in mind that, jmo, would be the greatest most impressive of them all if I could get the custom shop to build it for me.
So far, the custom shop seems uninterested in bringing it to life for me. :(
It would put any BM ever made to shame, at least in my mind. ;)

Sag.

Wow. WOW! FINALLY! Someone who feels the way about knives that i do. Sag, you are crazy like i am crazy. I have several 3/8" blades, but you have freed me from that limitation and set a new precedent. Absolutely exactly what i need next -- a 1/2" thick blade. And i like how you left it with a nice, reasonably shallow saber grind - you know, just so it doesn't bend or break or anything.... Beautiful... I'm afraid to even ask what it set you back -- But i'm sure it would involve second mortgages...
