I'm sure we've all experienced wanting a knife only to find out it doesn't feel very well in hand due to balance or ergos. On the flip side I've been pleasantly surprised by a few knives because of how comfortable they were once I got my hands on them.

Let's get a list of the most comfortable folders, fixed, machetes, multitool- anything that's good enough for you to mention on a thread about comfortable knives. This can be for in the hand or during extended or hard use, whatever works.

Most comfortable folder: Spyderco Poliwog. Honorable mention to the Manix/Mini, D'Allara Drop Point, Benchmade Mini Rukus
Most Comfortable fixed: Spyderco Street Beat. I don't have too much experience with a lot of quality fixed blades.

My Kershaw Spec bump and my ZT 0301 felt the best in my hand.
The spyderco streat beat was also excellent in my hand.
I have always thought the Becker line was comfortable while working.

Most comfortable folder:
Bali-Song Inc. Ivory Micarta Kris Balisong CBS200
Emerson CQC13-
Lg. Regular Sebenza-

Most Comfortable fixed:
Pacific Cutlery/Bali-Song Inc. Bushmaster 760-
Pacific Cutlery/Bali-Song Inc. Delta Raider-

Matador-

Not being too much into fixed blades, I can't give too many opinions there, but from what I've held of folders, the top two that come to mind are:

Kershaw Junkyard Dog II
CRKT Lightfoot M1

Honorable mentions go to:
Spyderco Manix
Spyderco Dodo

I'm not sure where the Sebenza fits in in terms of comfort: it's a strange one. On one hand, it is not designed that ergonomically, but on the other hand, the beveling and softening of the corners on the handle is truly remarkable when it comes to overall comfort.

Like I said before, I have not handled a fixed blade that made me think, "Wow! This is comfortable!" I'll let you know when I find it..

Everyones hand is different but for me its also the CS
Master Hunter. The handle of the Recon Tanto and SRK feel just as good. For bigger knives the KOA Alaskan Bush Master Trail/Camp Knife gets the NOD.

Busse .22 GW, I'm simply amazed how comfortable it feels in hand.

My Swamp Rat Knife Works Rat Trap is by far and away the most comfortable folder I've ever owned. A bonus is that it nearly disappears in my front pocket which makes it a great EDC.

Spyderco Perrin Street Bowie
Spyderco Military
RJ Martin Devistator
Spyderco Manix

It looks like my experience is pretty limited, but I'd say the most comfortable folder is the venerable Buck 110. If I had one without external scale pins, it'd probably be even better.

Fixed-Swamp Rat Howling Rat LM, great ergos, Swamp knows handles:cool:
Folder-Spyderco Military, many grips to choose from, all comfortable and secure.

Easily the Spyderco Manix for me.

Honorable mention to Spyderco Military, D'allara, Buck 110, Mora 760, Kershaw Bump, Groove, Ener-G and JYD2, Boker Trance, Victorinox Farmer and Trekker.
