The most exotic steel Kershaw has ever worked with?

Both will be new patterns (One in-house, one collaboration) and never used steel (that I know of).

Now that you mention it, that SG2 was tricky, tricky.

I think the only factory produced folding knife with VANAX 75 is the Tilt by Kershaw.
CPM-S110V is still very rare, does anyone know any other factory produced folder in 110 other than the Shallot?
Böhler-Uddelholm M390 is still a space aged super steel in the Volt composite.
ZDP-189 In the composite Shallot or the ZT 0350, full or composite.
SG2 in the Blur and Junkyard Dawg
ELMAX in the ZT 0551, 0560/1 and 0350 composite
CPM-S35VN in the ZT 0550
CPM-S60V in the Whisper, Blur and Boa
I would argue specifically Kershaw folding knives VGA-10 is pretty rare, maybe not exotic in the Lahar.

Thanks Thomas for letting us know what to expect next! Can't wait to find out what new steels Kershaw will be using.

i love threads like this.. with the 550, 560, tilt, and 777 how much more epic can kershaw/zt's line up get?
 
I'm already doing 13 hour shifts to recover from my 0561 and Tilt purchases and now this! As mentioned by others; Damn you Kershaw, or in this case; ZT....

I have a feeling that a colab with RJ Martin is in the works... At least I'm ready for a ZT with the grace of a RJ design:friendly_wink:

BTW. I like how Thomas has been teasing us without breaking the "You'll see it when it's available"- rule. Seems like we can enjoy some excitement even without drooling pictures. Well played, Thomas.
 
wow, with the way things have been progressing I can't wait to see what's next. Like many of you I have also got the tilt, 0551, and 0560 all within the last couple months. That's almost $800 just on kershaw, I also have a Spyderco sprint run addiction to feed! :(

So...ya know, not for nothing and yous can catch feeling's all yous want but, kershaw is making new knives but some knives like the 0750 still haven't been made yet?

Maybe I have some nerve or just speak my mind.
 
Thomas, in your opinion, will these two new ZT's rival the success of the 0560 line? I know that knife has been an out of the park home run for you guys (I've got one, it's EXCELLENT). I know it's hard to say in the pre-production/production stages, but I'm sure you've probably had your hands all over the design of these new knives.

Bottom line: Is this something that is going to kick the 0560s out of our pockets? I'd imagine that's going to be an very difficult feat as many of us feel the 0560 is pretty much perfection. Honestly sometimes I feel like I could get rid of my whole knife collection and only keep the 0560, and that includes a very handsome lineup (Strider, CRK, ZT0302 and 0551, PM2, Tilt, Military, +more).
