Whats your most hated knife you own? For me its my ZT 0350sw. I just cant stand the handle length, and the blade is stiff to deploy. I know i can adjust it, but for that price I shouldn't have to. I also hate my benchmade 520 presidio. It feels like a piece of slate in my hand, and its way too heavy.

Generally, when I hate one of my knives, I get rid of it.

My Bradley Alias is the exception. It was defective (the lockbar slips out of place when you apply pressure to the spine of the blade with your hand, and if you push hard enough, it can even disengage ) so I sent it back to Benchmade. They didn't fix the problems but sent it back to me anyway. I called them about it and they told me I had to shell out another 20$ to ship it back so they could try again. Awesome.

I didn't feel like blowing 40$ over the price of the knife to fix their mistake (twice), so I put it back in the box and stuck it in a drawer. I can't sell it because it's defective, I couldn't get it replaced or returned to the store I bought it from, and I don't want to use it for fear of losing my fingers.

So in the drawer it sits. Thanks, Benchmade.

I wouldn't characterize it as hated by any means, but my least favorite knife was my Microtech Makora. I'm not an automatics guy, so I traded it. Now, my least favorite is my last knife with serrations, a Kabar Next Generation. I'm also getting rid of all my folding knives with blade coatings.

Can't say I hate it, but one I like the least is KaBar TDI LDK. Would never complain for the price since it was $7 at the exchange. A little design change would have made it much better though. A good chance you go to use it as a push dagger in emergency (whole purpose of design) and the tip is at a funny angle. You need a tiny blade to go as deep as possible at the intended target.

Basically a novelty toy or around the house package opener when wearing pj's without pockets. Again for $7...hopefully people don't pay more for them online because of the brand and product name.

The time you spent making this thread you could have loosened your pivot on your 350. Never knew it was such a task.

Most hated knife I own. Microtech whaleshark. Love it overall but hate the clip. So it doesn't get carried.

Hated my Gerber LMF II for obvious reasons but luckily sold it, now my least favorite is my ZT0350 just cuz I can't get the damn thing sharp. I've heard S30V can be a bitch to sharpen but my Manix 2 XL sharpens up real quick. Anybody want a 350?

Loosening the pivot may be easy to do, but can also create other unwanted problems, so it's not always the best solution.
I usually get rid of my knives that have issues or just don't satisfy me.
Gifting them to family or friends is a quick way out, but I wouldn't recommend it with a knife that may close on their fingers.
My Benchmade MPR is a great little tank of a folder, but the lock-rock makes it the only disappointment in my collection at the moment. I don't mind though because I beat it up and down the block for a year or two before the lock-rock showed up.

I don't think I have ever "hated" any of my knives because I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. The knives I am not madly in love with, I sell them. I won't even keep/buy a knife I like.... I would have to love it.

I've only hated one knife. An Emerson Raven. Actually I loved the knife, hated the fact that after two trips back to Emerson the lock was so weak it could be folded up like a slipjoint. It now rests at the bottom of Buzzards Bay somewhere between Cuttyhunk and the Vineyard.

Boker Magnum Camp Bowie (Becker Knock-off) I was bought.

I don't know if I hate it, but I'm having a hard time warming up to the Buck CSAR-T I bought a few months back.
The rough G10 makes it hard to remove from my pocket and the lock is like a bear trap to disengage.

oh i fully intend to get rid of the 0350 just to make it clear, but i have it with me in afghanistan right now, and mailing it home would be too much of a pain.

I've been lucky. My most hated knife is a Gerber Icon that I have lying around somewhere. It is just a terrible knife. Bladeplay, uncomfortable, poor steel, take your pick. The handle is aluminum with what appears to be melted down tire inlays. it is as close to vomit-inducing as any knife I've come across. Nothing about it works for me. It was one of the first knives I bought, the first Gerber I owned, and also the last Gerber I owned.

Coming in at a very distant second place for most hated is my Cold Steel Ti-Lite zytel. I'd give this knife 3 stars. I like the proportions of the knife but the handle is pretty uncomfortable, as are the flippers.

When I first got into collecting higher-end knives, which occurred after purchasing and falling in love with a Benchmade 950, I dug around on youtube and discovered the most popular knife reviewer (NutnFancy).

Long story short, I hopped on the SOG Flash 1, Skyline, and CRKT Drifter bandwagon through a series of spontaneous internet purchases. I have hated all of those knives, despite their popularity, for a variety of reasons (perhaps 'hate' is too strong for the Skyline; it is a decent knife but does not suit my needs).

I've stuck to Benchmade and Spyderco knives ever since, and rely on better sources for knife recommendations!

When I got back into buying knives (age 31) I didn't know how to judge quality in modern folders. And I made my purchases at a mall knife shop (expensive). As a result I bought some junk. I've thrown away three knives at a total cost of about $450. One was a Gerber F/B Combat folder (the lock was a joke), one was a Gerber F/B Covert folder (horrible fit and construction), and one was a Spanish style Navaja (can't rember the brand, another piece of junk). I threw them into the trash rather than sell them because I cannot in good conscience sell people junk. I held onto them for a long time but eventually decided just to get them completely out of my life and send them to a landfill. I wouldn't even have given them away, If I liked someone I would be embarrassed to give them a crappy knife and even if I hated someone I would be embarrassed to give them a crappy knife.

That's what I do with knives I hate.

I still have other knives that I regret buying very much. In particular (and I discussed this in another thread) is a Lone Wolf T3 mega-folder. Everything about it screamed quality but after getting it home I discoverd that the lock sucked. I paid $300 for that knife in a B/M store.

I also have a Kabar Next Generation with serrations. I bought it on impulse. Hate the serrations. Without the serrations I would like it more.

Truth is that most of the knives I've bought are now regrets. Either because they turned out to be junk or because I didn't really need them and I now consider them to be a waste of money. Live and learn.

My Microtech Mini SOCOM auto. I hate everything about it. It's tip-down carry, has rubber inserts in the handles, and a partially serrated, beadblasted, tanto blade. Everything I don't want in a knife is on this knife. But it has sentimental value, so it'll never be sold, traded, or given away, and I carry it on my days off.

For some reason the kershaw shallot I just did not like that knife . I got rid of it .

They have a lifetime warranty. Send it back with a description of the problem/s & they will fix it for you. BUCK has GREAT customer service. Heck, you can even jump on the BUCK sub forum here & ask how to & where to send it. I plan to get one of those some day. I have handled them & love it. HD piece of hardware right there.

I have been lucky to like every one of the 50+ knives i have bought. I like some more than others, but like them all.
