the most owned knife on Bladeforums

I say that's probably right, Buck 110.

Another possibility is one of the SAKs, just about everybody has one.

I was gonna say SAK at first too...

But that's like saying Buck or Spyderco. SAKs come in different models and are even made by two different companies.

Fair enough, so as for the SAK I'll say the Victorinox Classic.

how about listing what you have and not what you think it is. For the record I don't have most of the knives listed. I do have;
Buck 110
Vic tinker
Opinel but its a #6
Schrade Stockman
Spyderco Caly Jr
I have many more but those are probably the most popular ones.

Surprised more people havn't mentioned the Kershaw Leek. Thought just about everyone had one of these? If you don't, you should!

I think that's a pretty good idea

Buck 110
Victorinox Classic in black

and of course dozens and dozens and dozens of others
not to mention all of those traded and sold over the years

i have a load of sak's, but what about the opinel? they are common cheap knives and excellent quality for the money.

Buck 110 and any SAK.

No matter how many bazillion-dollar customs I'll amass in my lifetime, there's always a SAK in my pocket, on a keyring, on my desk, in the car.......

Out of the ovbious choiced given so far I own :

Buck 110
SAK Tinker
Benchmade Grip
Delica
Opinel #8

What you've said:D I would venture a guess that a 110 and SAK of some sort are pretty well the foundations for most collections and then it just expands from there:) Delica, for me, was the starting point for my Spydies. My Spydies have pretty well caught up to my Bucks - I think I have around 20 of each brand. Also have a bunch of CRKT's but I couldn't say that they would have any one given one that is a foundation piece, per se. I also have BM's and the Mini-Grip/Griptillian were a "must have" there, but I just haven't gotten into them like my Bucks or Spydies. I still acquire the odd Buck here and there, despite the fact I don't use them that much. So far this year, it's been Spydies so far.

I think you guys are on the right track 110s and SAKs have had the widest appeal for a much longer time than say a Spyderco Delicas and definitely moreso than BM Griptillians although they are fine knives.

The knives from my collection that I'm sure amny other's here own:

Victorinox Deluxe Tinker
Spyderco Endura

I say either the Griptilian or the Delica.

I wouldn't say a 110 because I owned both a Delica and Griptilian before I ever did own a 110. I however still own a 110 so maybe you're on to something :D

Ya mean people outside of the usa dont get issued a 110 at birth???

Heathens.
