As I recall that isn't true anymore. Last I heard Victorinox bought Wenger early last year. Which means that even though it appears that both companies still produce separate lines that they all come from one company.

I have a 110, a SAK classic, a griptilian--those are probably the ones I have that are most common.

I have to think the SAK classic is the most popular model overall, because so many non-knife people carry those, but non-knife freaks are not on this forum, so it may not be the most popular on this forum....

If I had to field a guess I would say a stainless steel kitchen knife. You know, the good old butter knife. :) I bet most of us have about 20+ of those.

the national transport agency says its a Swiss army knife. they take more from people getting on planes than any other knife.

We have a winner!:p

Remember the question was the most owned knife on BF, not the general public. I'd have to say 110 or Delica.

Regarding SAK's, I thought the Spartan was a better seller than the Tinker?

My guess:

1. one of the mid-sized Vic SAKs.
2. one of the mid-sized Opinels
3. Buck 110
4. Spyderco Endura/Delica
5. BM Griptilian/Mini-Grip

Not sure if Opis are really more popular than the 110. The Spydies would probably come in very close behind these two.

My guess would be the Buck 110 also. Most of us likely (older guys at least) started with one of those before we found forums and tactical folders.

Buck 110
BM Grip (my new Grip 551 with 154cm came in the mail yesterday, yay!) :D

I gotta check out the Spyderco Delica and see what all the raves are about. :p

I was gonna say SAK at first too...

But that's like saying Buck or Spyderco. SAKs come in different models and are even made by two different companies.

Wenger was indeed bought up by Victorinox.
But it's true, SAKs more like a brand or type, than an individual model of a knife (hence I always say, THEY aren't really knives), thus not on a PAR in comPARison to a Delica etc.
Most knives I have and give away are Chives, btw.

Surprised more people havn't mentioned the Kershaw Leek. Thought just about everyone had one of these? If you don't, you should!

You're right.
I have the whole line from Chive to Bump.
But the Leek's got lots of competition... the Chive has less, and is so cheap, I thought more people would have that - and should! :)
