The most pocket time in 2017- Traditionals Only Please

2017 Has been a year of changes for me. I traditionally only carried one knife, the same knife for the last 5 years, but, this year my pocket knife saw a lot of rotation.

The knife I always carry and carried for a generous portion of 2017 is my Ken Erickson Trapper.

But this year, quite often I found myself pocketing a simple Swiss Army cadet for its unrivaled utilitarianism. (also pictured w the ONLY belt knife i carried this year, a Malakina puukko)

I carried this knife for every special occasion in 2017, and then some..(DHIII Trapper)

And lastly, I've been having a hankering for a larger knife - so I've been carrying this one the last several weeks and it feels like 4'' might be my new preferred size.

With out a doubt the 2 traditionals that have seen the most pocket time in 2017 aside from the SAKs on the various key rings would have to be the 2015 BFC Canal Street Cutlery serpentine Shadow Jack wrapped in Bocote and the Lone Wolf/Loveless Drop Point Folder. Also since June this JD Ellis Custom Lanny's Clip have had exclusivity in my pockets as EDCs

It seems like most people who have shared the contents of there pockets, have used a low number of knives. Four at most with quite a few just one. I must enjoy Coon fingering & Chicken eyeing the rest of my knives, because I have so many that don’t find there way into my pockets.
Keep’em coming folks. Pictures are what it’s about. Happy New Year !!

Well I post this one all the time but that's because its been tried and tested for almost 30 years now. This Red Stag was the first knife I ever bought and has been in my pocket almost every day since. In my early teens it was abused but the scars and patina are memories and signs of love to me. I learned to respect it and have many scars to prove it. It may go in to part time retirement this coming year if the GEC #43 is what I hope it will be.

My most carried have to a Mini copper lock with the jigged amber bone. Carried it everyday since I got it in late senptember as a gift. Before that it was a case full size trapper in stag bone, which I bought to replace my GEC 14 because I felt like it was getting to worn out to fast. All other knives I’ve carried since semptember have been in addition to the copper lock.

It would have to be this little Rough Rider whittler. I won it in a giveaway here on the porch (thanks, Gary) and it’s been my constant companion ever since.

Tinypic seems to be down, I’ll post a pic of the little jewel when it comes back.

For the past several years (when possible) I tend to carry three knives. On my key-chain is a Vic Classic (it's with me whenever I leave the house) and a Vic Soldier rides in my RFP most days. Those two have definitely seen the most pocket time for the past several years. The third knife carried varies from day to day but it is usually a favorite traditional chosen for that particular day. During this past year one of the following was most often the favored third knife and except for the Vics received the most pocket time in 2017.

I carry a lot of knives each day, just for fun, and most of them change weekly according to a rotation schedule I've set up and periodically update to include new arrivals. The point is to make sure all my knives get carried at least occasionally. But there are three knives that I carry EVERY day, so they're obviously the ones that win the 2017 Pocket Time Award from me.
A Case CV Sodbuster Jr in chestnut jigged bone that I won in a @BigBiscuit GAW almost 3 years ago that I use as a "prayer reminder". Here's my favorite photo of it at a vacation cottage we rent each summer on Lake Huron:

I've carried another knife every day since its arrival this fall, and it almost certainly will continue with the other three as literal EDCs. It's one of the A. Wright & Son buffalo horn lambsfoot knives Jack Black had made up for the Guardians of the Lambsfoot (thanks, @mrknife):

Special knives for a special person, thanks for sharing those with us.

I rotate my carry almost daily. But I'd say these two have had the most pocket time. Alox Farmer for work, and 38 special for dress. It's changed some the past couple months though with the addition of a yellow rose Churchill and a Queen cattle king stockman.

Early in the year it was single blade jacks and barlows, then it happened.
These didn't come in until the later half of the year but they have knocked everything else out of my pocket.
I usually have both with me.
