The new Gayle Bradley C134CFP, from Spyderco!!

$125 delivered?!?!? That's a crazy steal!

Just got mine, & it is as classy yet heavy-duty as I remembered. The only 2 quibbles I have are (1) the spyder etch on mine is a little irregular, but that's purely cosmetic, and (2) I think that because the choil is so shallow compared to a military, some jimping at the index finger would help reduce the chance of the finger slipping onto the blade. I may add that myself, since I've never been deterred from screwing up a perfectly good knife by modifying it.

My only wish is that they'd used the wire clip used on the Caly3, P'kal and Sage series.

I wouldn't have objected to a deeper choil, but I'll take Sal's and Gayle's judgment on that.

Man that would have been a great design with the lock-up from either Manix and probably the first Spyderco I paid retail for since the wave Endura. Sadly a liner lock doesn't work for me as a lefty, great design other than a liner. Why not just go with a frame lock if your going to make a knife like that.

I'm a lefty and I'm having no problems with this one. Might be worth a try if you find one at a B&M dealer.

Just bought one from Spydieguys. I am waiting to hear back from them though. I never received an email confirmation and I emailed them directly without an answer.

Its a great knife.
Only improvement would have been deeper pocket carry.
Its heavy, but its slim width allows it far back in the seam of my Levi's front pocket.
You wont even know its there. Aside from it protruding a bit.
I guess a wire clip would have helped. (I never use lanyards)
All in all, best bang for the buck so far.........

Newell-I am in! Thats all it took...I really wanted one of these :)

I posted a couple of videos on YouTube the day, and the day after, I got my first. I got a lot of grief for my fingernails - I play the guitar... Anyway, if you search for something like "gayle bradley folder first impressions" you should find them, and you can see my Edward Scissorshands self operating the knife with my left hand. Honestly, for reasons I'm not sure I can verbalize, I think a lefty may have an easier time with the GB than a righty. Try it and see. I think this thing is one of the biggest values to come into the knife market in a very long time.

I am a rightie but find that my left hand middle finger works most liner and framelocks more easily than my right thumb

As a lefty, I find the easiest way to close a righty liner lock is to flip the knife over in my hand, and use my thumb to release the lock. I then close the blade halfway by pushing the spine against my leg (or some other convenient object). Finally I use my thumb in the hole to fully close it.

This method works great with the Bradley, and is much easier to do than describe.

Hi Tom :D

Lefty here also...I find most linerlocks and framelocks work fine opening with my left thumb...the GB is in that category. Some work well, others work so-so, and some don't work at all. The GB works, for me, like the Khuk and the Barong (which worked well) in part (I think) because there's no (or, in the case of the GB, almost no) cutout for the thumb. That makes it easy to wedge or lever my left thumb against the lockbar and force it open.

This is all YMMV/FWIW. I think just about any knife other than a mid/backlock or an Axis lock is subject to personal preferences at a level that makes try-before-you-buy (or at least buy with a return ability) a better idea. But, having said that, I'd enthusiastically say that lefties do not need to fear the GB.

Wow, was that long-winded... :o

I received mine yesterday (Thanks again, Tom Berry!). And this knife is built like a tank. A very solid design and mine came perfect. Everything on it is perfect with regard to action and F&F. I'm delighted with it to say the least.

Kudos on this collaboration, Sal and team . . .

The Chef - I am terminally left handed and I just got mine. The way they did this linerlock, it is very lefty friendly. No big cutout to allow you to accidentally squeeze the lock open. They should all be this way. I like it so much, I ordered a second one. This one may actually surpass the Stretch for my favorite carry piece. :)

ps - I just happened to read more of this thread and WOW, how many lefty's are there in this forum?
