The new KSF Firewallet. This thing rocks!

But you wouldn't choose the tractor to get you to the hospital in a life-threatening situation over something faster, etc. Would you?

WTF, I made a comparison to a learning curve, and your racing the tractor to the hospital.

in 35 years of teaching survival skills I have never experienced such resistance to learning a skill.

Have a nice day.

Who said I had resistance to learning a skill? I'm talking about the actual construction and use of a fire bow, drill, base and socket being directly relevant to modern day survival skills. You don't have to know how to construct these pieces that make up using a "fire bow" in order to learn how to properly lay a fire. You asserted that we should not be "slaves to technology" yet what you cite is a technology and for this I am somehow being stupid or stubborn for pointing that out? I don't really like emoticons much except the smileys but I have to use one here ->>

I am not angry with you, I'm not "offended" by you. Words mean things to me and sometimes I just have to resign myself to the fact that apparently the dictionary doesn't apply to everyone.

This is precisely why I started a thread a couple months ago on the difference between "bushcraft" and "primitive living" and "survival," etc.

What a sacred cow! Good grief!

Exactly! It rides a bit lower than the waist harness on my Camelbak so it stays out of the way on my backside.:thumbup:

I ought to have paid more attention, but does it have enough room to hold a spare piece or two of flint? I really should break down and pick up one of those kits sometime.

The size of the flint rock that it comes with is quite large, but yes, you could fit a small one in with the twine and char cloth. I have some extra hemp twine packed into that little compartment and I see no reason why you couldn't add a small piece of flint in there also.
