The new mule

you mean that is freehand sharpening? wow! I thought you were using the Edgepro or something...how do you get the bevel so even?

I can sharpen freehand (my kitchen knives) but I can never get a nice even bevel....and I suck at sharpening tips.

BTW, I am really looking forward to comments on 52100 vs m4. I have one of both and am deciding which one I should keep and which one I should sell (I can only afford to keep one).

Yep freehand, sharpening is accually very easy, learning how to follow the curve of the edge is the hard part. Comparing 52100 and M4 would be easier done by evaluating the things you plan to cut.

One of the best places and ways to learn to sharpen is with a decent straight razor and the sticky's they have at some of the SR forums like Straight razor place.
4000 /8000 Norton stone is a good place to start.
 funny thing is I've bought my first SR 2 days ago. I guess great minds think alike :p

The Mule M4 ,had a ridiculous amount of extra cost for me besides the 69$
The 25$ fee for Canadian shipping and the 13$ duty/tax and the painful exchange rate
almost equaled the retail price of the Mule.
I feel your pain, I regularly have less impressive taxes but once I had ~55€ taxes for a 10€ with free shipping SAK bought in Switzerland... (they used an expensive shipping method and the transporter had fun with his own fees)

Great minds thing alike and i guess ours do too.

The stock edge on my m4 Mule is pretty damn impressive all on it's own. I have not done much more than open a bag of nachos but
it seems very very sharp. No visible warping either which can be a problem with M4 apparently.
