The New One, the "1-0"

Hi all,

Mistwalker those curls you get from the bamboo is just awesome. They look like paper curls LOL they are so thin looking.

I am working on my "1-0" with Green handles and black liners. got the sheath in the oven and have applied coats of finish so far.

I had a talk with the Boss this morning when I was looking in the mirror and combing my hair LOL. We decided that working Friday morning was just not an option and so we are going to take the new "1-0" and the survival manuel Six Ways In and Twelve Ways Out and head to the woods to work on a fish trap and maybe a couple of other survival traps that are discussed in that book. Plus with my new Cannon Camera( my other camera died last Friday) that I got I will get some pics and post what I do with the "1-0"

so stay tuned LOL

Chat with you all later,

Bryan

Hi all, Well I got my "1-0" made and the sheath too. just finished it today and into this evening. I put a pouch on side of the sheath to hold a firesteel and then on the other side to a pouch to hold a Ceramic knife sharpener and then on the front of the sheath I put a pouch to hold a Final Option knife.

Well here is the first fuzz stick I did out of Walnut wood.

Then I decided to head to one of my wood piles and get some chunck of wood to split up into smaller chunks of wood. After I batoned those few chunks.

I then had a bunch of smaller chucks just perfect for my next fire:D.

That's an interesting knife and one hell of a story mistwalker. I may have to make a trip down to Bryan's place just to handle one of these knives, I'm fascinated by the design. The slant guard with the choils is something I've never really seen before, and looks like it would really work great. And that monster thing that Bryan made looks just amazing.

Wow Bryan, that green one looks really good! That 5/32 looks really good too.

Hope you have fun tomorrow...I'm having to wait till Sunday to go.

Thanks, glad you like the design...I really like it. I'd love to play with that Mega version for a day too. I think I may someday get a ten inch version in 1/4"

Hi all,

Well as I said last evening, I was going to take my Book Six ways in and twelve ways out and work a a fishing trap that is in there.
When I left the house this morning it was pretty chilly out so I when I got into the timber and hiked over to one of my camp sites I made a little fire to keep the chill away. then proceeded to get the parts I would need to get my funnel fishing trap started and pretty much done.

This is a pic of where I was going to have my fire and build my trap.

My fire.

I started to collect some of the sticks that I would need and then made 2 round hoops one smaller and then one larger.

IMG_0056.jpg

Just another pic with the 2 round hoops and the 10 sticks that I cut from a willow tree down by the creek we have here on the farm. these will be the main frame for the trap.

IMG_0057.jpg

In this pic I have the small ends tied together and then the small hoop in middle of the length of the longer sticks and am tieing the hoop and the sticks together.

IMG_0064.jpg

then in this pic I have the larger hoop and am working it from the bottom up over the smaller one and will tie it into place.

IMG_0066.jpg

In this pic I have the trap together and all tie like I wanted.

IMG_0067.jpg

Next I wanted to fill in the gaps and spaces some with some more willow branches that I cut with my "1-0".

IMG_0069.jpg

Well the morning came to a end and then I had to head back to the shop to work on a couple of hatchets for a couple of customers. After I work on that I am going to head back down this eveing to that campsite and start another fire have some coco and work on that Fish trap some more. and just plain enjoy the cool evening.

Well after having some lunch tomato sandwiches I sliced up a home grown tomato and then some french bread with my "1-0". That was some easy food prep to do.

Out to the shop I go for a few hours anyways LOL then back to the woods for the evening.

Hi Rocketbomb, Yea when you get a chance stop by here at the shop and check out these Warthorns and at least one "1-0". I have a few more to do so I might have a couple of others here waiting to be sent out, so if you are able to make down please do so. The slanted guard is awesome.
I will have that MEGA Warthorn or Monster as you called it right here when you show up LOL.

Well as always these threads are work in process so stay tuned for more pics and review info on the "1-0" that Mistwalker designed.

Those are some great pics Bryan. I was headed to the woods Sunday, maybe I'll just set up a little camp and work on something for a while who knows.

Amazing story mistwalker. Those men were great people, and helped to foge yet another. I must say that is the most special knife I have ever seen. That is a true grail knife.

Thanks Mark,

I'm sure it's not the end of the search for everyone...luckily peoples of the world have vastly varying tastes that give birth to innovations and help us to avoid boredom. However with the possible exception of finding out that I like it better in 5/32 I think it is the end of a long search for me. I believe it is the one I have been seeking for a very long time...it just suits me and my uses perfectly, is very stout (which for me is a good thing) and is very comfortable in use. The next one will likely be a smaller knife of a slightly different design, but the idea of a smaller one is born out of thoughts of legalities, and the ability to share state parks and public hiking areas without the sheeple "freaking"...not my personal wants.

Wow mist, that was a heavy story you shared, thanks, you turned out good anyway.I always enjoy your reviews.Looks like Mr.Breeden makes one hell of a knife.

Sorry, it is pretty heavy....and why I don't often share it.

I have been very well pleased with Bryan's knives.
