Mano, those are great pictures!

What kind of creature is that in the bottom pic?

Good stuff, Brian:thumbup:

Never saw those scales before. Is there a gap with the bird's beak on the butt?

Mistwalker, I could sit next to that stream watching the water go by for hours...

Me too, I sit up there and meditate a lot. It's the same place as in the treacherous terrain thread I just posted, apparently my youngest digs it too :)

Thanks Russell. Nope, the G10 is mortised and the is a nice snug fit with no gaps at all.

I hate it when you post these shots, man... makes my heart ache to be there!!!!!

Did not want to copy all of those photos in my reply.

Just wanted to say it looks like my idea of a really good time. Such beautiful scenery. Kebabs on the fire.

Your pictures really capture the spirit of a good outing.

Where was the outing?

Looks like a good trip; where exactly was this?

And for my obligatory dendrology question: The pines you cut up for firewood look like Austrian Pine (Pinus Nigra) but could be Scots Pine (Pinus Sylvestris). I believe both are native in your area. Do you know which one these are?

You are right,it is Pinus Nigra, although they are native to this area, they are planted on this place...mountain Mosor.

We are planing next trip to Velebit, bigger and more interesting mountain,so this was kind of a training ;)

Forgot my P&S at home today (grr), so here are just a few mobile snapshots from a little stroll.

Hiking Mano - Cool pics! It's been a while since I have been over on the coast. It was a lot easier to go to those places when I lived in San Francisco.

Glad you liked em! Yes, it's quite a drive for you, coming from Visalia. I was born and raised in Hawai'i, so I can never live more than an hour or so from the coast :o.
