The new shop is coming along. It was just a studded space when I started. I've run the power, and lighting. I've sealed the whole room with 6 mil viscuine and the interior walls with R3 aluminum foam board and aluminum tape. Yesterday we put a door on the interior intrance. Its time to move in the tools.

I'm getting excited. I've missed making knives, and moving a shop was ridiculously hard to do. I guess I shouldn't have bought the heaviest tools I could get.....

Its 517 sq feet. Plenty big I think. Now I've got a LOT of machinery to move in there from the storage unit. Dagnabbit.

I'm just happy to have a nice bright place to work!

Awesome! I put the largest shop my property setbacks would allow and only got 196 sf. I'm also jealous. Looking good spiderman!

That is shaping up very nicely. I can't wait to see the completed shop with the equipment in place.

Good on ya.......... Everybody needs a nice place to work.

Looks like a great place to work! I'm envious of your new-fangled "electricity"... :)

Yea, this one is in my basement. Thats why I lined the whole room with plastic. Takes up half the space down there. Just no funds to build a separate building.

I'll put more pics up as they come.:D

New progress. A few more pics.

Andy,
You have a great shop in the making. Just watch the sparks with all that plastic around.
PS: you need a couple of 5lb ABC fire extinguishers also.

That looks really nice to me Andy. Someone there is doing a outstanding job. I am happy for you. Great work from a great person. ---------A+

Andy thats a great room. Gotta love the bright new walls and ceiling. It must have cost a bundle but its worth the investment.

I know what you mean about moving tools and not making knives for awhile because Im still working on my shop addition. I can finally walk around the equipment.

Thanks guys. My budget for it was actually lower than I thought. Most of the money went to wire and lights. The wall and ceiling board is 8 bucks a sheet. The rolled insulation was ten bucks a roll. The cabinets and countertops were left by the previous owner. (score) I already had all the tools. Now I just have to start moving them in...

Oh, and I've got to build a workbench too. I'm going to build a sweet (heavy) one since there is plenty floor space for it.

Looking great.

I like that it has a lot of windows. I find I have a tendency to stay in a room if it has a lot of light:thumbup:
