Has anyone handled one? Supposedly they are a "new generation" but I don't know if that is just the lock...

I'm surprised Mickey Ray Burger's company can still stay in business after he was revealed to be a liar about pretty much everything he ever said.

AFAIK the only "new" thing with the most recent PTs is the three hole pivot is on both sides now. I had a PTCC several years ago and the lock on mine was very much like the current runs of strider folders.

The one I saw didn't have a clip either, which is good for me as a lefty...

I believe the CC designates them as concealed carry, which is why the don't have clips.

Correct, the regular version still comes with a clip. From what I can see, the lock looks to be modeled after the sng, and pivot is three prong. Another change is the blade steel, which is now s35 instead of s30. I would like one, but want to handle it first.

This is honestly the most rehashed, beat to death topic in the knife community. Frankly, it shouldn't have any place in a conversation about the quality and design of Strider knives.

Why the new pivot anyways? Has it been mentioned somewhere?
Its supposed to be more resistant to stripping than the old one. Apparently a lot of people were trying to adjust their pivots and ended up stripping them, which strider consequently had to fix.

So why a three hole pivot and not something more common such as torx where you do not need a special tool?

But it's true, and strongly related to the topic at hand.
Really? I don't think his criminal record affects the performance of the knives at all, but that may just be me.

I think they don't want you adjusting it at all, which is a bit asinine considering the price you pay for their knives. Mine actually came lose (practically falling out), and the fact that it had an unconventional pivot made it very difficult to fix.

I would think the reason they had of so many stripped pivots is people without the tool tried fiddling with it and stripped it. But that is just speculation

It does affect the fact that a lot of people like myself would rather give our money to an honest, hardworking company rather than a court-proven liar and convicted felon who defecates on the names of every dead soldier with every knife he sells.

Doesn't one side of the pivot on SNGs and SMFs use a metric wrench? I can understand not wanting you to totally disassemble the knives but adjusting the pivot?

Being retired military I don't care for some of the things said and done, but if we stuck to that principle 100% we would likely need to scratch a heck of a lot more products off our list. There are some terrible people running big business that have done far more damage.

I agree with Retired Guns 100%. The one poster, who denigrates the company, is brand new on this forum, and insists on monopolizing the thread. Sir, please take it to Whine and Cheese. Your opinions do NOT relate to the discussion of this folder. I've had three PT's: one CC(no clip) and two LEGO models with pocket clips. A very fine quality "smaller" knife; customer service is the finest I've ever experienced with ANY manufacturer.
