Next up is price. Keep in mind that something like a CB or serialized run would be more costly...

100-200 (I know it is impractical).... make it special. I have snagged so many of my most coveted knives in the last few months that I am having a hard time getting excited about knives lately.... come on guys, it's either I get excited about a new knife or I get medicated for my depression.... help a brother out. :D or is it :(?
 
up to or around 100. i don't have that much money, have bought 9 kershaws, but i would still like something a bit special :)
 
I voted for the most expensive:thumbup: For a forum knife for us to call our own, why mess around with anything less? Bring on the bling as far as I'm concerned.:D

Seriously, can we just do the CB Shallot and call it a day...17 polls on the topic is a bit overboard and will increase the chance of failure. I don't even really like the Shallot handle, but I'd buy the forum version...its the novelty, not the model.

How about Thomas just tells us which one, and if we want it we buy it...

Shhh.... Which one is that? He wrote both his last two albums after he found out he had mesothelioma...just wondering which one you're referring to. Yeah, I noticed we're coming up on the 5-year anniversary of his death; thought I'd change the sig for a few days. Let me know if you want some bootleg concert files. And remember, "enjoy every sandwich."

No offense meant, but there hasn't been 17 polls about this. It's not overboard, and I don't see how arriving at a consensus will increase the chance of failure. This is about what the sub forum would collectively like to see. There might be folks here that don't want the knife to be a Shallot. We've been down this sub forum knife road before. Unsuccessfully, because we couldn't come to an agreement on what model it should be. Thomas, Ken Onion, Tim Galyean, Gavin Hawk and others have asked for our opinions before. This is what makes Kershaw and this sub special. Ultimately, the decision will be made by GG.

So if you like to participate in this, please do. We've already read your multiple posts regarding the Shallot.
 
I went for the best but probably should have voted for one of the others.
I'm gonna want more than one and that would've helped. LOL :D

I think you are kinda missing the point. We have tried this a dozen other ways and it never works out. This is actually the best way yet. Are the chances of failure high... yup. Are the chances of finding a dealer to handle the order any good? Nope. But, on the off chance we succeed it won't be whatever the flavor of the day is with laser engraving down the side. It could be something very unique b/c the powers that be are willing to do small sprints if there is someone willing to front the cash.

So, chill. This isn't the worst thing that has ever happened, and if DV works this out.... you, too, can own the coolest forum knife going.:thumbup:

sorry but i still feel i gotta put my hand in for a CB 14c28n/ZDP ram with grey Ti handles and black G10 scales (to be swapped out for ebony of course). hmm oh well. maybe gavin would make one just for me :)
 
I wouldn't mind seeing the CB Shallot, with a black handle though to more easily differentiate it.

I only mention it because Thomas seemed to react positively to the suggestion in the CB Shallot thread. He hadn't reacted quite as positively in the past. :D
 
I think that up to 100$ is reasonable.... I am thinking of this as " The people's knife" .... Based on what Kershaw offers now... 100$ should squeeze out a heck of a knife...... I just don't happen to be a fan of the shallot.... Im just not a huge fan of flippers... Unless that flipper can do what the OD1 can..
To stay on subject... price should be reasonable... otherwise, I will not be able to afford something of that nature....:D

Depends on timing. But in general, at most any time, $100.00. More if the timing is good.
 
Middle of the road joe for me. For a hundred bucks Kershaw should be able to do something spectacular. The high end will cause me a divorce :D. Would hate to have to give up half my knives not to mention house, cars kids you know the minor stuff.
