The Next New Becker Knife: Rumor Roundup

I would love to see the 13 in either 1095cv or D2, along with a different grind. It's a great size, and those changes would significantly improve on it, despite elevating the price.

I'll take a re-release of the RBK for the ultimate Becker chopper
+
a BK-16 upgrade for the best all-around knife in the lineup (I'm not picky. I'll take it in 01, D2, S30V or 3V),
+
a Becker clip point lockback folder a la one of the KA-BAR Coppersmith folders (4-4.25" closed with 3-3.25" blade in 1095 or D2, micarta scales, no bolsters).

That's the stuff dreams are made of!

what about a folder?

That was discussed last year I think. They found it to be cost prohibitive to do it to the standards of the becker line.

Smatchet!

I want this so hard...

I would love to see the BK6 more than anything. I really cant understand why they would expect the RBK to out sell the Patrol machete. I know a lot of people will buy them, Its an interesting blade for sure, I will probably even buy one but I am not that excited about it coming.

I've heard a lot of reasons why the BK6 is not in the works from it costing too much to Ka-Bar not having the machinery to make it stateside. All I know for sure is that I want one.

The original RBK is an 1/8" total people eating machine, I would imagine the new one will be 3/16 to chop wood n stuff.

.25" from some hints Toooj dropped a while back.

Toooj leaving Ka-Bar will likely delay a lot of projects that were in the works. I'm very eager to see what Ka-Bar is going to roll out next year but I'm not holding my breath for anything too amazing.

ESEE announced a bushcraft series of blade designs. Since they make the kitchen knives for Becker it would be a short step from here to a BK-B. After all, bushcraft is the hottest thing since sliced bread came out of the oven. Even Bark River jumped all over it. A well designed Becker Bushcrafter would be all but impossible to resist!

With a 30 dollar belt sander, you too can have a Becker Bushcrafter.

Looking forward to the RBK coming back. I heard somewhere that it's going to be 1/4 in thick, but I can't remember where, so don't quote me on that.

I'd love to see the brute rereleased.

For the spin: more desert tan beckers!

You can keep your scandi grind. I prefer the FFG.
How much longer would you want the blade? Sounds like you want a Mora with a Becker handle.

None of ESEE's and BK&T's current lineup are bushcrafting knives?

The Camillus era Machaxen I have are 1/4 and they are like swinging a club. If the RBK is to be 1/4 I hope they make it a two grip handle.

In the ask Toooj thread he was dropping some seriously strong hints that could only have equaled the RBK, except now that I think about it, I never specifically asked if the knife had ever been made in the Becker line, I don't think. He said something was coming that was a collaboration with Ethan and another designer that had been made before but that it would be coming back differently than it had been in the past and .25" thick and it would be a kukri-style blade shape. The only thing that could be is the RBK if we're talking about a Becker knife no longer in production. I can't recall if that had been addressed or not.

As for the .25" thickness, I have an Ontario SP kukri that is .25" thick and it's much lighter than I expected it would be. It doesn't fit well into the "machete" label I see attached to it sometimes though. I would not want to have to use it to clear vegetation for any length of time.

I want this.... Hard. I love my Necker & I love my Remora. This would fit well right in between. I love the blade shape as well with that little bit of a clip. :(

I would also love to see a Mark 1 blade on tweener handles. I know it won't happen, but it would really solve the Mk1 vs BK17 debate going on in my head. Then naturally, a BK6!!!!! Oh, and a D2 Necker, pretty please.

Hmmm, maybe I should make myself a 3V version of the BK6 on my next order... Still have a blank that needs handles too. I wonder if tman is still alive...

Nope, I want a woodlore with a Becker handle and Beckers 1095CV and perfect heat treat. :)
I like the handle my Mora has on it just fine. I'm looking for a Becker that slices as good as my other 1095 blade, which is a pre-Taylor Schrade.
