The Magnacut really is a pretty cool steel, but it is not really a period correct material for this pattern.

AEBL is very similar to an old classic simple steel but slightly stainless. It's a perfect stainless steel for this pattern and Delta 3V is also a very good steel for this pattern.

I think we will be using Magnacut as our stainless option going forward.

I don't intend to produce this antique camp knife again, this was a one-time run.
Moar Field Knives tho??

Well I am seriously happy I got one while they were available. The more I handle it, the more I like it. Being a one-time run I imagine the value will skyrocket, but this is one I plan to pass on to someone when I can no longer use it. It is amazing to me how some simple designs draw me in. Most of our furniture is Amish, and my off-road/cabin truck is a standard so I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise. Anyway, thank you again for making it!

Dayyyym that was brutal.
You ain't kidding! I posted the INSTANT the thread went live for me and yet I was nearly 40 posts too late!

Somebody explain to me how this works, is it simply a matter of who's got the faster internet connection?

Now I gotta go hunt down the owners of these knives and beg them to sell me one (or a few) for a stupidly high price that I'm unfortunately probably all too happy to pay.
