I still don't quite understand the process of acquiring a Carothers knife. Reading back into this thread, i gather that Nathan will post upcoming sale details in this forum. What is the next step? Are the knives sold on the CPK website, or right here in blade forums?

There are three basic ways to obtain a CPK:

1) Get lucky on one of the Friday sales. These will typically be limited quantity, and will sell fast - really fast.

2) Occasionally some models, in small quantities, are available on the website

3) Keep tabs on the Carothers forum on The Exchange

These are not mass-produced knives. I can't stress enough that regardless which avenue you are pursuing above, don't hesitate if you see what you want.

Check the first post in this thread...there is a link to the specific Exchange forum where they will appear. Once the sales post appears there at 3pm, you need to post a reply to get your spot. But the spots fill up in literally milliseconds. If you successfully get a spot, you then email Jo (email provided in the sales post) with your details. She will send you an invoice.

OK I am new here. I registered to the site. At 3 Eastern I kept clicking on the link above but never saw any CPM knives for sale. How do I see them or does the link get taken down after they are sold out (15 seconds or so today if I am reading correctly?). Thank you for any help anyone can provide. Have a nice weekend.

There was no sale today. That one was last week. They don’t occur every week, but when they do you have to be fast. I recommend reading through some of the educational posts. That will help you understand how everything works.

Welcome to BladeForums T Tom_Koda and the CPK Forum.

Go back to the very first post of this thread and that’s where you find the current sales information, look closely at my attached picture for the clues.

You can also look at Nathan’s Profile for the same information in his signature line that he also updates before the sales happen too.

Hope this simplifies the explanation for you.

There was no sale today. There isn't one every Friday. The post you're quoting was edited last week, meaning the sale was on Friday the 16th.

You don't go to the cpk website for sales posted here on blade forums.

You would check this thread, and review the first post. In the bottom right, you'll see a time stamp saying the last time it was edited. Sales are usually posted during the same week they take place.

Most of the time the sales take place in the main sale area. https://www.bladeforums.com/forums/for-sale-fixed-blades.754/

The sales are posted at 3pm eastern unless stated otherwise. You'll have to click on the sale thread and post a letter, number, period, or any character as fast as you can. If there are 20 knives for sale the first 20 people that posted will get to pick a knife to buy. If there are 40 knives for sale, the first 40 people that posted get to buy a knife. You get the idea.

These sales are over in less than one second. I'm being literal. Usually over 50 people post in under half a second, so the knives go fast.

If you have more questions you should read through the other threads in the carothers performance knives forum. There's lots of info that will answer most of your questions.
