I really like Cru-Wear quite a bit. But when Nathan said that he still prefers his Delta 3V, my level of angst dropped to "snooze". Why? Because, unlike Mike Lindell, I actually believe Nate when he speaks.

(I'd still like to own a knife from him in Cru-Wear too, though.)

Couldn’t agree more, E.

Anyways, this thread should be locked until Mon, too much publicity.

:)
You have to share, Roland. (Easy for me to say, since I didn't participate in the first...and won't tomorrow.)

I hope everyone that wants one, gets one. (I'm still licking my wounds from laying out for the generator.)

I do not know the context Nathan said that. But different tasks, requirements and people prefer different steels. I would not determine my preferences based on other's opinion without understanding the context first. Also, it is not about believing to someone or not. We all have different process to accept (or not) the given information. As a sceptic person, I prefer to have as much information and evidence to believe something rather than taking one's opinion as a fact and follow that idea. So, I do not know who Mike Lindell is and while I respect your choices, probably you and me have a different ways of filtering the given the information.

3V and CruWear is quite different and I expect CruWear to excel at edge stability at hardness levels where 3V can not. I would agree that a 60-61 HRC knife with 20 thousands behind the edge would do better in 3V, but CruWear is likely to take over 3V when the hardness reaches 63HRC and thickness behind the edge drops to 10 thousands or less. If the data I have seen previously is correct, CruWear is tougher than 3V at 63HRC since 3V takes a nosedive in toughness once it surpass 61 HRC whereas CruWear is better at maintaining significant amount of it's toughness at higher hardness levels. And since I prefer my knives to be slicy rather than to be destroyer of a cinder block, there is a good chance that CruWear would be better suited for my taste. CruWear is supposed to be quite similar to 4V and competition knives are made of 4V (not 3V) just because of the reason I have explained above.

What’s the hardness on the Field Knife with modified cruwear?
63-64 hrc

Give the first post a read. Very good information

If we score a spot on tomorrows sale can we opt in to have blue titanium screws?

You need to read more and post less. Seriously.

Bummer - I'd be interested in one, but we'll be making a long drive pulling a camper for a holiday vacation, and I don't think that my wife is going to let me sit there trying to snag one on my cell phone when I'm the one driving. Good luck everyone!
