The Offical Secret Santa 2013 and GIVEAWAY thread

I know, right, we went to bed and there were 8 and thought that was a lot, woke up with 3 more in the room! She was a very unhappy little dog for a while at the end there.

Our dog is a doxin mix, she's a rescue so can say for sure with what, the father is a little pug from down the road, we tried all summer to chase it off with a hose to now avail. My wife says there's a name for that, they call it "DAWG", which we thought was funny to.

11 puppies!? wow. what kind? no cute puppy pics?

Hey all I've decided to do a few little giveaways here and there as I can to try and keep this thread interesting and relevant while we wait for Christmas and our secret santas. They won't be much but hopefully they will be fun.

Here is the first one:

Open to everyone and anyone!
Two prizes, two chances to win

These are welder's torch "flints" someone posted about using them as landyard accessories a while back (sorry i forget who!) and I picked them up because i liked the idea, unfortunately i don't have the ability to drill through metal so the idea got sidelined. Nosing around through the odds and sod in my knife box and work shed they came out again and I thought I'd try to do something with them.

The handles are both walnut and I have flattered one side on each of them near the flints to try and make them a little more comfy to hold while striking on an abrasive surface.

walnut+(2).JPG

I tried them on sandpaper, so they both have use marks fyi, and they seem to throw sparks pretty well, better then clicking your fingers together anyway if you don't have anything.

walnut+(1).JPG

All you have to do to win one, your choice, is to complete the following mission and send me your shipping address (pahoward@hotmail.co.uk)

Note: it'll be first class shipping, sorry!

Mission, should you chose to accept it: post a picture of a JK under the mistletoe

FYI: if don't have a JK knife...why?...but you can also use either; John himself, a picture of a JK knife or similar JK related images, other easy to find/make effigies that are Jk related..perhaps a buck knife as that is John's favorite production brand.

Post here, first picture answer wins a choice of the two, second picture wins the one left over!

good luck and get going!

Ha, thanks, buddy.

If you post that picture, todd then i may just have to send you both of them, shortly before poking my eyes out with a blunt stick :p

Cool flint holders Pete! That was Joel that posted about the welders flints.I made myself one by finding a long screw that fit the other end of the flint holder & flattened the head of the screw, then drilled a hole in it.Yours looks so much better.:thumb up:

sounds like you came up with an ingenious solution, any chance you have a picture?

Sorry, Myke I was blinded by the beauty of that knife for a second but i see it now :D

Seriously, looks good to me, more unobtrusive on a lanyard I'd bet, very cool.

On a side note: No one want one of 'em? Ho hum, did I strike out on the first giveaway? Better put my thinking cap on.
