The OFFICIAL 2017 BLADEFORUMS KNIFE purchasing thread

The race is opened, mine landed at 8:02 this morning. Now heads through the customs, then hopefully into a big truck, a smaller truck, and maybe a van, finally in the postman's bag in 2 - 4 days... The last 20km are sometime the longers to achieve...

@Will, if you hurry, there's a room left here. Further West is Newfoundland. :D

Nooo the French beat us again! Congratulations Jolipapa, I think you're the first European with a 2017 forum knife :)

Well done JP! My tracking claims it's still in San Fran. but I suspect it's closer...;)

But, I think La Poste has a secret weapon, maybe it still has a few of these stashed away:D Snapped this 2 days ago round the corner from me. A tough simple worker, like the current Forum Knife

Mine arrived today and couldn't be happier. What a beautiful knife and what really shocked me is not only is that natural macarta drop dead gorgeous but it's also pretty much flush at the half stop . Not a deal breaker either way but a pleasant surprise
Thanks much to all involved in making this knife happen.

Similar thoughts here. It's just outstanding.

Only my second TC, and my other is a 2013. One difference I noticed was the pins are now ground flush. Curious when that change happened? Or is it micarta vs bone, with micarta getting sanded?

From my limited experience Micarta always seem to have outstanding fit and finish.

I'm thinking that they treat Micarta the same way they treat smooth bone or wood in regards to the flush pins.

Jigged and sawcut bone don't get sanded smooth because obviously it would ruin the aesthetics of both.

Thanks Bob. When I stopped and thought about it a second I figured that must be the case. But then I don't know the whole manufacturing process on bone either, so I wasn't sure if they did any sanding/polishing on those scales.

Interesting tidbits on some beautiful knives.

I hope their weren't many regular traditional sub-forum posters who missed out on this knife. I love mine.

I voted for red linen but the natural micarta is probably a better all around choice. I'm certainly not disappointed in any way.
