The "Official" T.M. Hunt Custom Knives Random Chat Thread

Here's something random.

I was using a fork truck to set up a job at work today, when my leg started feeling a little warm. Working in a weld shop, I figured maybe I'd gotten a little too close a finished part. Nope.

I kept setting the job up and my leg kept getting hotter. Finally I couldn't stand it and reach into my pocket and pulled out my Surefire flashlight. Must have bumped the button and turned it on in my pocket.

That sucker puts out some heat.:D

I have a Fenix that does that too. My old phone(Droid X) was bad about over heating.

Todd . . . have missed you the last few days on BF. Hope your absence means you're working hard in the shop . . . yeah . . . I have ulterior motives.

Shame you can't make the Gathering but family comes first. I may get to do a day trip and would really like to opportunity to meet you but now that will have to wait.

You're been messing around with the computer long enough . . .

Back to work! :D

Ralph. I have made the last three gathering in a row, I hate to miss it but these things happen. If you are on the fence about going, I encourage you to. It is a great experience. It will be a shame to miss meeting you, however, Murph, my right hand man (as unfortunate as that is ) will be there with a few recent offerings from the shop. Disclaimer: Murphs opinions and views pretty much mimic mine but be warned. Murph was born without couth or manners. Keep hands and feet away from his mouth at all times, and hold your beer with both hands. Not responsible to what happens to any livestock. :D

Now leave me alone, I gotta get to work! ;)

Way back in my teens and early 20's I used to smoke. I used to get zippo lighter fluid burns on my legs all the time from the fuel leaking out. It came about if I put the lighter in upside down or if I was in a position which cause the fuel to leak. For some reason my skin had a reaction to that fuel, I dunno.

Did the same to me, usually when I overfilled it.

No Sun King this weekend.... I didn't feel like stopping in Friday after work (a few interstates are closed downtown - so everyone is routed to 465 - my normal route). Then yesterday, I missed closing time by just a few minutes. :banghead:

Does anybody think a concealed carry sling for the M-18 would be possible? In colder weather, when you're wearing a jacket?

Yep, a blend of leather and kydex.

But where would you orient the handle? Up or down? down would be easier to grab quick, but then you'd hafta make sure it was locked in pretty good in such a way you could unstrap in quickly.

I carry mine inside the waist band at 1200 if I have pants on.

handle down - and do a metal reinforced thumb break snap for retention -- like on a pistol shoulder rig.
plenty secure, but relatively simple to open.

Re: Yuma: "If this knife does not suit your needs, then you don't have any."

awe. some.

Used my Hornet today, to cut up some carpet. Went through it like a hot knife through butter.
